Creek District Sidewalk Mosaic Program Is In Full Swing! Meet Carol Schiff The Third Mosaic Artist To Participate And Vote For Design #4 Learning Mosaics Is Easy And You Can Join in!

Stuart’s Creek District Sidewalk Mosaic Program is in full swing as mosaicist #3, Carol Schiff, works to complete her dolphin design and voting is open for the fourth mosaic artist! Project coordinators, Corina Pelloni and Diane Concepcion are eager to share their wealth of knowledge with anyone who wants to explore the world of mosaic creations.  The Rickie Report gives you some sneak peeks of Carol’s work as all we information about voting for Mosaic Artist #4 and classes.

Meet   Carol   Schiff

Artist   of   the   Next   Sidewalk   Mosaic

Carol Hayes Schiff

Carol is a very skilled and experienced oil painter. Mosaic art is a new medium for her. A pleasure to have in the studio, she has been working diligently on her winning design, and has really taken to mosaic art like a… dolphin to water.

Here is Carol’s original painting shown next to her work-in-progress:

page1image64188816

Carol is a Florida oil painter who loves the coastal beaches, flora and fauna of this tropical paradise. Her second love is the Asheville/Blue Ridge Mountains area. Her art features both of these sites.

Her painting style is characterized by exciting brushwork, contrast, hues, and texture from palette knives. She skillfully applies these techniques to images of landscapes, still lifes and animals.

With a client list that includes Warner Brothers, Netflix, CBS, Disney Channel and Duke University, you may have seen one of her paintings on the screen. One painting is in the 2019 movie ‘The Joker’. A few more make appearances in popular TV shows Magnum PI and Hawaii 5-0.

To see more of her work, visit her shop on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/shop/CarolSchiffStudio

Carol’s mosaic will be completed in a few more sessions. Then, it will be installed near Herban Botanicals on Colorado Ave, and we’ll gather to celebrate a new piece of public art in Downtown Stuart’s Creek District of Arts and Entertainment.

There’s more:

Don’t miss your opportunity to vote on the design for the 4th mosaic!

The location for this artwork will be the sidewalk at the intersection of 5th Street and A1A near Kiwanis Park. Both finalists designs are beautiful original artworks submitted by brilliant local artists, Marian Vitale and Deborah Bottorf.

Wondering  if  you’d  like  to  try  mosaic  art?

All are welcome to enter a design for consideration. When a contest is open, it will be accessible by the link above, and that’s also where information about the program can be found.

Another option is to take an intro to mosaics class. Classes are offered at Flagler Center on the first Saturday and third Wednesday of each month. You must register in advance for a workshop. Learn more and sign-up at:https://www.missingart.space/sign-up-for-an-intro-to-mosaics-workshop/

Thank you!

Women Supporting the Arts generously awarded financial support which will serve as start-up funding for this program. MartinArts donated a half ton of beautiful glass tile. The City of Stuart is making this addition of new public art possible. Thank you, as well, to the people and businesses of The Creek District who have expressed their enthusiasm and support of this program.

Cheryl’s FREE Startup Mini Course begins June 6 -10. She’ll teach you 5 easy steps to getting started in your own business and share step-by-step videos.  The Rickie Report shares the details.

It’s all happening on:

With over 35 years’ experience in sales and marketing, Cheryl Phan has work with companies such as Clear Channel Radio, CBS Radio, Fox TV, Palm Beach Post, KB Advertising and she is the owner of three self-made businesses.  In 2002 Cheryl took a courageous step, leaving the TV and Radio industry to be her own boss and start her own decorative painting business in Palm Beach County Florida.

Cheryl has established herself in the business building area implementing sales and marketing campaigns that move product, drive traffic, and increase sales.  Her true gift is coaching other women how to turn their hobby into an online business with real-world knowledge, simple techniques and sprinkled with fun.

Cheryl lives in West Palm Beach, Florida and is a proud mother of two daughters and four grandchildren. She also serves at The Hand Of Hope special needs ministry. Philanthropy has always been a passion and helping other comes naturally.  Although she wears many hats, art is her real love.

My Story

Cheryl shares with The Rickie Report, “I’m going to be very vulnerable right now and tell you what happened to me back in 2008. Remember the recession? It’s hard to forget especially when it hits you hard. I had a decorative painting business and I still do to this day, but back then I didn’t prepare myself for the what if….  The business was going great. I was making a ton of money. I had a crew of people working for me and life was good”.

My wake-up call

Cheryl says, “Until the bomb hit, and everyone was losing their homes, including me and to make matters more challenging , I had a hip replacement a few months before it happened. I was in panic mode. I was scared and put my business on hold and took a job making peanuts working 40+ hours a week that barely paid my monthly bills.  The bad news was I was laid off. The good news is it forced me to take along hard look at my life and what I was going to do to generate an income. I swore I would never let that happen again. So, I put on my big girl panties, pulled up my bootstraps and started my decorative painting business back up again, but this time I made some changes. I knew that I couldn’t depend on painting one job at a time. That’s when I took my business online and started building multiple streams of income from my painting business”.

Sure, it was a little bit of work…

but I only had two choices:

#1 I could go work for someone else and live paycheck-to-paycheck with no job security.

OR…

#2 I could step out of my comfort zone and learn new and innovative ways to build my business.

I decided on option #2 the benefits outweighed the reality.

(Let me say this, if I can do this at 64 years old, so can you!!!)

It’s not rocket science, it a learning curve!!!!

Fast forward to 2022

During my journey on social media, my following started grow, new leads started pouring in and people started asking me for advice on how to start their own business. (BTW, this is the number one reason most women never get started, because they don’t know where to start).  I spent numerous hours responding to DM’s and messages until one day I decided to take my business knowledge, and experience and start sharing it with other women who are in the same boat I was in just a few years ago.

FULL DISCLOSURE

When I started my business 20 years ago, I had no clue what I was doing. I made a LOT of mistakes and many of them were costly. I don’t want to see others make the same mistakes. I’m also a true believer in “#paying it forward”. When you are a blessing to others you will also be blessed. So long story short, I am now coaching women how use their God given talent to make money online doing what they love.

Now for the good stuff!

I created a course called “First Things First”, because let’s face it, nobody has years to figure this out, especially when you’re over fifty.

I’m giving away the first 5 modules from my course in a Free Mini course webinar. This is where I will teach you how to set up your business from scratch and get legit. Remember, If you’re not legit, you’re still a hobby.

My hope is that you’ll not only feel inspired, but also know I’m here to help in any way I can. If you have a dream of starting a business, it is possible!

Get the details and let’s get you started!

Why Not, It’s FREE!

https://www.subscribepage.com/ftfminicourse

The #1 reason most women don’t start their own business is because they don’t know where to start.

No more excuses, because I’m handing you the first 5 modules from my course on a silver platter. I’m going to show you exactly what you need to do to GET STARTED

Are you struggling to make sales on social media?

Are you tired of watching everyone else make money?

Are you dabbling with your hobby and want to turn it into a real business?

If this is you, I want to invite you to my FREE Startup Mini Course. I’m going to teach you 5 easy steps to getting started in your own business without the tech.  I share step-by-step videos teaching you exactly what to do, I’ll give you worksheets to help you peruse through without being overwhelmed and all my resources, so you don’t have to figure it out on your own

Even if you have already started your business, I would encourage you to attend there may be some golden nuggets that will help you expand your business. Plus, I’ll have some awesome prizes for you to grab while you’re there.

It’s all happening on:

“This marriage of image, technique and materials is distinctive and causes people to talk about what they are seeing because there is nothing else like it.”  Lynn Doyal

“Hannah” by Lynn Doyal

From realistic to representational to abstract, these artworks are a splendid fusion of contemporary design with a reverence for the techniques of the past.  Lynn Doyal’s technique of combining various media such as digital photography, painting, fiber hand stitching, and beading are exclusive to her creative process, resulting in artworks that engage the viewer on multiple levels.

“Neon Shells” by Lynn Doyal

Due to the intricate number of details in each painting, Lynn’s work is best viewed up close in order to appreciate the fine workmanship. Many of her works are scanned, enlarged and digitalized allowing for a more abstract and dramatic experience. She delights in the different impact the same image can have when size is introduced as an additional element.

“Enter By The Narrow Gate” by Lynn Doyal

Lynn tells The Rickie Report, “All my work is initially created on canvas incorporating a digital image and/or “free-hand” painting.  I go back into the image using hand stitched fiber threads and beading to bring a textural element to the artwork.  This canvas is then photographed in high definition and digitized so that the image can be output on a variety of surfaces including glass, metal, canvas, tile, and vinyl – which allows for SCALE to become an essential element in the visual experience.  The unique way in which the artwork is photographed and digitized yield 2-D images that look 3-D.  Seeing the detailed hand crafting and brush strokes is an experience that most every viewer describes as “Cool!” because it fools the eye.  There is nothing else like it!

“Dew From Heaven” by Lynn Doyal

While it is natural to try and visually link the Biblical artwork titles with the image, the artwork titles follow my spiritual direction, whereas my visual imagery is reflective of my artistic direction”. Lynn Doyal

“Glorious  Things Are Spoken” by Lynn Doyal

As an established studio artist, Lynn’s interest to create Public Art began in 2016 when she became a volunteer for Palm Beach County Art in Public Places program.  “Simultaneously, I started an apprenticeship with a professional Public Artist. These opportunities afforded a wealth of information into the public art realm. I have since received several public art commissions and am advancing my career in this industry”.

“Hibiscus” by Lynn Doyal

Lynn’s artistry has been seen at galleries and exhibitions in Florida, New York City, and countless places in between.  She is a member of Florida Association of Public Art Professionals (FAPAP), Wellington Art Society, Wellington, FL.  A native Floridian, born in Miami, Lynn resides in Boca Raton.

Video Installation, “Climate Change” by Cheryl Maeder

Cheryl Maeder tells The Rickie Report, “The core of the work is “connection”; the connection to the self, each other and to all life forms on this planet…” Maeder’s photography became the inspiration for the Dove Campaign on ‘Real Women, Real Beauty’, which transformed the way women are viewed in the global media.
