Beginners Through Advanced Artists Can Get Creative In Workshops At Bailey Contemporary Arts This Fall
Get creative at Bailey Contemporary Arts (BaCA) in Pompano Beach with some exciting new workshops: Life Drawing Studio, Colored Pencil Techniques, Cardboard Art, and a Mixed Media workshop. Life Drawing Studio
First and Third Saturdays 11am – 2pm
$20 General Admission; $10 Students
During this three-hour session, live models pose draped for short gesture, as well as longer poses. This program is ideal for individuals interested in portrait painting, character design, illustration, animation, anatomical drawing, however, ALL artists benefit from Life Drawing sessions.
Artists are invited to bring their own materials and supplies. This activity doesn’t provide formal instruction; participants work at their own pace and in their preferred medium. Space available for six participants per session. Ages 18+
Color Pencils Techniques
Saturday, October 12, 2019 11am to 3pm
Registration: $45, all supplies included
Traditional (waxy) color pencils will be explored. Techniques of how to layer colors are experimented with. See fascinating results using color combinations to create impressive drawings. Explore a wide range of compatible papers that lend themselves beautifully to this dynamic medium.
Cardboard Art
Saturday, November 16, 2019 11am to 3 pm
Registration: $45, all supplies included
This workshop will guide you through carving, cutting, shaping, painting, and ultimately creating 2D and sculptural artworks and frames from cardboard. This class is open to all levels, and 18+ due to the tools to be used.
Mixed Media Workshop
Saturday, December 14, 2019 11am to 3pm
Registration: $45, all supplies included
In this workshop, participants will create using multiple materials: dry media, wet media, collage, fabric, random objects, anything goes!
Use a mixture of materials of your choice in this workshop; learn multi-media tips and techniques with color, texture, and a variety of surfaces. Explore the endless possibilities of mixed media art.
Instructor Kimberley Maxwell was born in Canada and resides in South Florida. She earned her MFA at Florida Atlantic University and was awarded the 2004 South Florida Cultural Consortium Visual and Media Artist Fellowship.
