Plein Air Paint in Maine
with Ted Matz
August 24 – 30, 2014
Step back in time at the historical Claremont hotel nestled in the fragrant pine trees of coastal Maine. This charming small hotel overlooks the scenic Somes Sound in Southwest Harbor on Mt. Desert Island, 30 minutes from Bar Harbor, and just 70 miles east of Bangor airport. Famous for Acadia National Park, Mt. Desert Island offers something for everyone.
For the artist, there are spectacular vistas to capture at every turn.
For the golfer, there is Kebo Valley Golf Club.
For the naturalist, there are hiking trails that ramble along flowing streams and the ocean.
The island has an expansive sandy beach adjacent to a jagged coastline where visitors marvel at the raging surf spewing water up into a deep cavern called the “Blow Hole.” Rise early one morning for sunrise at the top of Cadillac Mountain to view the first place the sun touches in the United States. Or, spend the day in the seaside town of Bar Harbor shopping and enjoying the numerous art galleries.
Space is limited! The workshop is sponsored by the Lighthouse ArtCenter Museum, Gallery & School of Art 395 Seabrook Road, Tequesta, FL (561) 748-8737 LighthouseArts.org
Proceeds partially benefit the Lighthouse ArtCenter, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and the donation is tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
