As a non-profit organization, our mission is to promote public interest in the visual arts and to provide financial support to art students attending our local Florida Atlantic University and Florida International University as well as art students attending Palm Beach County High Schools. The proceeds from this event will help us continue our mission. Last year there were 136 students accepted into the competition.

In keeping with our theme, we’ll spend the morning using creative ways to paint on canvas Beach Bags. An elegant gourmet lunch will follow.  You will also have the opportunity to participate in a Fabulous Chinese Auction (baskets filled with fantastic gifts), a Silent Auction (Works of art donated by member artists), and an AMAZING Grand Prize Drawing which includes an AMA Waterways European Riverboat Cruise 8 days/7 nights for two (valid for a Balcony Stateroom in March, April, November or December of 2017/2018. Dining is Gourmet, Staterooms are Deluxe and only has 150 passengers); Angela Yang’s full size painting of “Art of the Sea”; and a phenomenal Paper Sculpture; by International artist, Francine Levinson.

This year we are very proud to announce Velia Sweet as our Scholarship Fund Honoree. Please join us as we celebrate Velia, enjoy a creative day, and help raise funds for aspiring young artists.

“Eclectic”, A Multi Media Art Exhibition Presented by NAWA

 The members of NAWA, The National Association of Women Artists will present “Eclectic”, A Multi Media Art Exhibition at the Armory Art Center opening on February 8th.  The event is open to the public, but more importantly, it will be an opportunity to meet the NAWA Scholarship winners from the Dryfoos School of Art in West Palm Beach.  NAWA, an organization founded so long ago shows its true colors by nurturing the artists of today and tomorrow. On January 6, 1995, the first and only chapter of this prestigious art association was founded in Florida by Liana Moonie, of Palm Beach and Connecticut, a past president of National, along with Madeline Weiss, of West Palm Beach, the first local president of N.A.W.A. Florida Chapter. The Florida Chapter carries out the mission of the National Association of Women Artists, Inc. with regional exhibitions, seminars and other educational activities as well as sponsoring annual scholarships for talented High School art students toward the college of their choice.

Our exhibition venues have included the Armory Art Center, Northwood University, and Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens in West Palm Beach, Coral Springs Museum of Art, Gardensart at Palm Beach Gardens City Hall, The Cornell Museum of Art and History, Delray Beach, the Capital Building Gallery in Tallahassee and various Northern Trust Banks throughout the state.
