Call to Artists! Plein Air Quick Draw applications are now being accepted for Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Flagler Park in Stuart, Florida.   Artists will have 2 hours to paint “en plein air”. Artists will then present their works on their easels for judging by Nancy Tankersley, last year’s Grand Prize winner, and prizes will be awarded. Awards include cash and prizes worth almost $2,000 total for all awards, first place is $500 cash, second is $150, and third is $50. The Lighthouse ArtCenter 4th Annual Plein Air Festival takes place March 8 through March 12. Nationally recognized, award-winning artists from around the Country will paint throughout Palm Beach County, depicting scenes from the beaches and natural Florida landscapes to the quickly disappearing old Florida homes and residential areas. Known as “Paint-Outs,” the artists will be visiting seven different outdoor areas to paint the varied landscapes and cityscapes. New Member’s Artwork

To become a Delray Art League exhibiting member, you must submit three pieces of your original artwork at one of our monthly general meetings. Artwork should be presented to the Jurying Committee between 6:15 and 6:30 p.m. before the start of the General Meeting at 7:00 p.m. Please bring a check or cash. You will be notified by mail of your acceptance. If not accepted, your check will be returned.

Accepted Artwork:
2 D ART – watercolor, oil, acrylic, collage, etc.

Not Accepted: (except if grandfathered in): computer generated art, crafts, glass, pottery, fiber art, jewelry, bead-stringing, poured molds, flowers, shell craft, etc. Categories not listed will be decided at the discretion of the Jurying Committee, with final determination by the Board of Directors.

Art should be signed by the artist and ready for hanging. Art done on paper should be matted and framed with Plexiglas (no glass). Canvas must be framed or gallery wrapped (no staples showing) with sides painted.

The Artists Association of Jupiter is a collaboration of artists who work together to promote the awareness of art and education to the community and surrounding counties. Its venue, A Unique Art Gallery, opened its doors in June of 2010. The gallery is staffed and operated with the help of volunteer gallery artists. Each month on the second Wednesday, the Gallery hosts special exhibits with a wine and cheese reception. We feature one or more of our artists with a portion of all sales benefiting different local charities.
