Metalwork by Joseph Ferris

Joseph first began working with metal in 7th and 8th grades during metal shop classes in school. Instantly his talents were recognized. His instructor encouraged him to enter the Michigan State Industrial Arts competition with a custom designed three-piece table set, which he built from hand formed steel. He did so, placing First in the Regional Competition and went on to place Second in the State competition. In High School, Joseph studied for four years under Eugeen Wolonick, master Craftsman of Metal Working Techniques. It was here that Joseph’s imagination and skill reached new and exciting levels.
Joseph went on to Western Michigan University taking on heavy class loads of drawing and industrial design courses along with a strong emphases in physics, mathematical theory and equations which he uses daily in the creation of his art.

These early experiences and training created the foundation which led Joseph to become the successful artist that he is today. Joseph has received numerous awards from prestigious art shows around the United States. He has been commissioned to do indoor and outdoor large metal sculptures as well as unique custom metal wall art and custom sculptural furniture for Private Collections, Corporate Buildings and Galleries.
Joseph utilizes a variety of metals and materials to create unique and unusual metal sculptures and sculptural metal wall art. Living in Florida has brought to his work the use of color, which he incorporates in his already exciting pieces.

Ira & Sue Lances
Fiber

Ira & Sue Lances of Staten Island, New York began making wearable art back in 1980. As the items became more artsy, Ira & Sue felt the need to start selling their one of a kind jackets and scarves at Arts & Craft shows throughout the country.  At many of the venues they have been awarded as recipients of many awards for their unique designs. At this time, the Lances are looking forward to sharing their one of a kind fabrics using several techniques. One of the techniques is called Handmade Chenille this process leaves us with a fabric which is reversible.

haeira-sue-lances-1

Wearable Art by Ira & Sue Lances

The fabric is made at the singer machine and it includes 4 layers of rayon fabrics, stitching them together then coming back and cutting thru 3 of the layers leaving one tone layer, which is the lining.  Another technique, Lace Chenille, is a process in which they start out with threads, fine cording and by recycling the scraps of rayon from the reversible jackets. They take the fibers and stitch them together, offering an open webbed or lace-like look to.

haeira-sue-lances-3

Wearable Art by Ira & Sue Lances

Working in Appliqué technique is very lightweight and sometimes done on a sheer fabric.  Thin strips of rayon are sometimes edged using the pearl stitch machine while manipulating the fabrics to create a design they are appliquéd onto. All of the jackets and scarves have lots of color and texture and can be worn day into evening.  Everything created by Ira Lances is also machine-washable and dribble too!  If you are interested in pieces, pricing or are thinking of having a customized piece just contact us for further details.

Painting by Karen Massengill

When she was very young, Karen knew she wanted to be a painter. Pencils and crayons were constant companions as her family moved literally around the world, which is where she was inspired. She earned a BA at  Florida State University, but was sidetracked by the demands of family and the steady income of a nursing career. Her husband’s sudden death in 1995 changed everything. At first a distraction from grief, painting and the childhood dream of being an artist reasserted itself. To revitalize her skills she attended workshops taught by world-class artists including Carl Dalio, Janet Rodgers, Jim Kosvanec and many others.

Karen has achieved great success on the art show circuit, winning numerous show awards and being selected as show poster artist five times.

Day of the Dead design by Joni Berte

“I believe that art is Food for the Soul! Self-expression is paramount to the artist and the drive to create is as impossible to stop as a runaway train. For the past few years I have focused on Day of the Dead art, and have developed a unique style (Lines & Micro-Dots) that is the hallmark of my pieces. While many of my Day of the Dead designs, particularly those found on my Sugar Skull masks, are typical of the genre, my execution is of the highest quality — especially in the areas of line detail and color”.

Stephen Moser – Dog Products

Stephen Moser tells us, “The ad in the paper said: 2 1/2 year old Male Golden Retriever, Must Go to Single Man. This is the classified I responded to 11 1/2 years ago when MAXX and I joined forces.  At that time I saved his life and years later during the midst of depression he returned the favor. Max was abused and had turned into a biter, but with patience became the best friend I’ve ever had.  One day while working in the wood shop, trying to keep busy and rid myself from a cloud of depression, MAXX came through the door carrying a 4 foot long twig in his mouth. He dropped it at my feet and forcefully said, “WOOF!” I looked at him, laughed and said, “That’s not a stick, I’ll make you a stick.” And so I did!”

haedelraymarch2016stephenmoser

“I walked out into the yard, picked up a piece of rough sawn lumber and brought it into the shop and put it through my saw, shaped it for a comfortable grip, and then on a whim I cut slots in the end (not knowing what that would do). Maxx was still watching me and when I finished making the stick, He seemed to know exactly what it was and who it was for. He went NUTS!  Laughing all the way into the neighbor’s lot, I threw the stick, heard the whistling noise (in the air) and the clacking noise (on impact) and the rest is history.  Because of the specialized sound that they make when they whirl through the air, and the clank that they make when they land on the ground, this is the perfect way to go out and play fetch with your blind dog”.

Lonee shares, “Blue Flame Candles are handmade with meticulous attention to every detail. We use a soy-blend wax, cotton wicks and no added dye. What sets Blue Flame apart from other candles is exceptional fragrance. Being true luxury candles, they have amazing fragrance throw and a slow beautiful burn. Delicate soft light and enchanting scents have the power to transform your state of mind. Whether you want a clean bright scent to lift you up, or a warm earthy fragrance to help you unwind, we have the perfect candle for you.

haemarchdelray2016cataldo1[1]

“Being a connoisseur of richly fragrant luxury candles and getting tired of paying exorbitant prices for them, I set out to learn how to create them. It took a great amount of work, many months of research, and hours of daily testing before my benchmark of product excellence was achieved. In October 2009 Blue Flame Candles was born. Today, Blue Flame is a true family run company. We continue to persistently test new waxes and oils to maintain the standard of superior quality that Blue Flame clients appreciate and expect”.
