The Center For Creative Education announces an Open Call to Photographers of all ages! The Sallie & Berton Korman Gallery will host “Florida: Faces & Places”, focused on how local, Florida residents spend each day of their lives.  This will be a global view of Florida which is too often related to beaches, theme parks, and other sunshine baked tourist destinations. The Swamp Buggy races is an annual race in Naples, Florida. There is a Swamp Buggy Parade, a Swamp Buggy Queen and general mayhem in the Swamp.

 

 

Entry Details Below:

 

 

Eligibility:

This contest is open to all ages. Photographs can be taken by a film camera and scanned, a digital camera, or digital camera that is part of another device (like a cell phone).

 

Entry Details:

Participants may submit work now and May 31, 2019. 

Photographers may submit up to 3 images for $25.00 (additional/add-on images at $5 each, maximum of 2 additional images). Payments can be made online here: https://cceflorida.org/the-gallery/

Images may be no larger than 3MB each at the time of entry and be submitted in .JPEG or .PDF format.

Entry fees are non-refundable and all images may or may not be selected depending on gallery space available and appropriateness of subject matter.

NUDES will Not Be Accepted.

All photographs should accurately reflect the subject matter and the scene as it appeared.

Photos that have been digitally altered beyond standard optimization (removal of dust, cropping, reasonable adjustments to exposure, color and contrast, etc.) will be disqualified.

Multiple exposures that have been combined to produce a single “High Dynamic Range” image is acceptable.

We are allowing HDR but ask that it be kept in a realistic tone.

Black and white will also be accepted.

Entries submitted after the Entry period ending on May 31 will not be eligible.

Photographs must be framed and exhibition ready (wired, hangers, etc.).

What To Enter:

‘Florida: Faces & Places’ is focused on how local, Florida residents spend each day of their lives. A global view of Florida from outside of the state often related to Beaches, Theme Parks, and other sunshine baked tourist destinations. This exhibition is an opportunity to explain what life is truly like for Florida locals, day in and day out through photography.

 

 

This exhibition will pair with a Summer, student documentary project being created with a collaboration between Center for Creative Education’s C4 Media Arts & Technology program and Blue Planet Writers’ Room.  Two local, non-profits with missions dedicated to education.  The students will be able to share their own stories that document their lives and culture in Florida.  Many of these stories will surprise people who have never been to Florida or only connect to Florida from a tourism perspective.

“Loxahatchee Visions” Announces Call For Artists And Open Public Reception

The Friends of Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge announce the 7th Annual Juried Art Contest, “Loxahatchee Visions”.  Cash Prizes will be awarded at the juried exhibition, which is open to all media except photography (save your photos for next year’s contest).  Artists under the age of 18 may apply at no charge.  The public is invited to the Opening Reception to meet the artists on Sunday, November 13th.  The Rickie Report shares the details and can’t wait to see your creations!

Deadline:

The Visitor Center is open 9 AM – 4 PM daily.

Accepted entries will be on display in the auditorium from Monday, November 7, 2016.

The Reception/Award Presentation will be Sunday, November 13, 2016 in the Visitor Center Auditorium at 1 PM.

    Categories: Entries will be judged on technical excellence, originality, creativity, visual impact, and artistic merit. Judges decisions are final.

  • ß  There are two categories – Novice (up to age 18) and Adult (age 18 and above).
  • ß  Each category will be awarded a First Prize ($250); a Second Prize ($150); and a Third Prize ($100)

Friends of the Arthur R Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge announce their Sixth Annual Juried Art Contest and Show, “Loxahatchee Visions”.  This is open to all artists, including youth.  The Rickie Report shares the application here. Directions: Arthur R Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge is located in Boynton Beach, FL., between Boynton Beach Boulevard and Route 441.

In our Visitor Center, located in the Cypress Swamp next to the 0.4 mile boardwalk, you can learn about our wildlife, habitats, management activities and even see what the interior of the Refuge looks like on a virtual airboat ride, all without ever actually stepping outside. Other informative and interactive exhibits and displays include the history of the Refuge, a tree island and gator hole diorama, and night sounds of the Everglades. Come out and see for yourself!
