Art Scholarship FUNdraiser At Art On Park Gallery Offers “Art By The Inch” December 14 In Conjunction With “Absolutely Abstract 2018”

The APBC Art On Park Gallery located in Lake Park announces its “Art By The Inch” Scholarship FUNdraising Event on Friday, December 14.  It will take place during the Opening Reception of the “Absolutely Abstract 2018” Exhibit.  The monies raised will benefit graduating High School Seniors for College/University Level Art Programs.  A Student Exhibit will take place in the Spring, 2019.  The Rickie Report shares the details and urges everyone to stop by!  This is a win-win-win!  Art lovers will benefit, art students will be aided, and artists will be rewarded! One hundred percent of the monies collected from these pieces will go toward the scholarship fund.

In addition to these works there will be displayed a multitude of abstract art by various artists in different mediums, which will also be for purchase.

2016 Anthology SUBMISSION RULES (Members Only)

1) Please submit your Best Poem (within the guidelines) (only one).

2) The Maximum Length is 35 lines, including blank lines.
3) The Maximum Width is 50 spaces, including blank spaces.
4) Please put your name and phone number on your poem, upper right.
5) Your poem must have a Title.
6) Your poem must be neatly typed on 8 1/2 X 11 white paper in 12-point font or higher if you are submitting through the US mail or in person at the reading. No Handwritten Entries Please. You are encouraged to E-MAIL your poem. Put the poem in the body of the email or attached as a WORD .doc, .docx, .pdf or .rtf to: poetsofthepalmbeaches@gmail.com.
7) DO NOT TYPE YOUR POEM IN ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.

8) NO fancy, italic or script fonts, nor any art work, please.

9) The DEADLINE is postmark Sept. 19, 2016, or in person at the Monthly Reading on Sep. 18th .
10) All emails will be acknowledged, but if you send it via USPS, send a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope) if you want confirmation that your poem has been received.

You may pick up your copy at the Anthology Party at our 3rd Sunday Reading on December 18, 2016. Every paid member will receive one free copy of the Anthology. If you cannot attend the Reading, your book will be mailed to you. Extra copies will be available for sale at $10 each. It is our goal to have every member represented in this book. Please submit in a timely manner.

2016 EARTH DAY POETRY CONTEST

 

 

We are asking you to submit your Earth Day poems for this special contest. The theme of the poem must be related to the Earth Day cause of love and concern for the planet and all its inhabitants. All forms of poetry are acceptable. Entries must be typed, and printed on one side of 8 ½ X 11 paper, single or double-spaced. No artwork or fancy fonts. Each poem must have a title. Only ONE poem per page, in normal 12-point font. On the top show your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Please submit all entries at the same time. There is a maximum of 3 poems per poet. Entry to the Earth Day Contest is free. This contest is open to residents of Palm Beach County only. You must maintain at least a part time residence in Palm Beach County to be eligible. It is open to members and nonmembers of Poets of the Palm Beaches.
