The Indie Art Festival 2021 takes place on Saturday, September 18 and Sunday, September 19. This Premiere Juried Outdoor Art Festival is on the historic grounds of the Cornell Art Museum at Old School Square.  The Cornell Art Museum is a vibrant, contemporary art museum housed in the former, quaint 1913 Delray Beach Elementary School building. “Squares On The Square” Fundraiser At Cornell Art Museum Adds A Twist, Adding New Sizes And An “Early Access” Pass To Art Lovers To Get Their First Picks. Deadline For Artwork Is July 8.

The Cornell Art Museum announces a Call for Art for its annual fundraiser, with a little twist! The SQUARES ON THE SQUARE exhibition and sale will feature artwork in a range of sizes: 6 x 6, 8 x 8, 10 x 10 and 12 x 12 inches.  Participating artists will donate original works of art, to be featured in an exhibition at the Cornell Art Museum opening during the Delray Beach First Friday Art Walk on Friday, August 6, 2021. The artworks will be sold at the SQUARES ON THE SQUARE cocktail reception on August 25, 2021. Art lovers can purchase an “Early Access” pass for $35.00 (on sale from August 6 through 25) that will allow the pass holder to purchase works prior to non-pass holders up to 30 minutes before the sale begins at the event on August 25. Early Access passes can be purchased in person or online. All SQUARES will remain hanging in the museum for the entirety of the exhibition (August 6 –25.)   • Artwork must be flat-backed and ready to hang.

  • Framed works are accepted; framing is not required.

  • Each artist & one guest will receive complimentary admission to the August 25 event.

  • All mediums accepted. Please no unfixed charcoal/pastels or wet paint.

  • Artwork that does not meet the above requirements will not be accepted.

Celebrate With 5th Annual Plein Fun Fest In Delray Beach From January 31 Through February 2. Discover New Plein Air Artists And Fabulous Locations To Paint.

Plein Fun Fest is celebrating its 5th year in Delray Beach. This “Hidden Gem” features great artists who live and work in Palm Beach and Broward counties.  Come watch juried artists paint on the streets of fabulous, action-packed Delray Beach on January 31-February 2, 2020. Last year Plein Fun Fest raised over $5,000 at the silent auction and more than $8,000 for the week. The mission of Plein Fun Fest is to be a regional art event to support artists of South Florida.  The competition is sponsored jointly by Plein Air Palm Beach (PAPB) and Old School Square.  The events are free and open to the public, as viewers find themselves immersed in the sights, sounds, and even smells of these artists’ world.  Artwork will be for sale, so mark your calendars!  The Rickie Report shares the details here.

The first plein air paint-out and critique is scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2020. Painters will work from 9:00 am to noon with a luncheon and critique to follow.

 

 

 

On Saturday, February 1, the public can wander around the streets of Delray any time between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm to see more than 50 artists capturing the hidden gem that is Delray Beach. Our artists love to have an audience and will be happy to share what they are doing with you. 

 

 

The paintings from Plein Fun Fest 2020 will be featured in a silent auction beginning on Friday night January 31 at 6:30 pm and all-day Saturday until 4:00 pm at Old School Square in Delray Beach. Last year Plein Fun Fest raised over $5,000 at the silent auction and more than $8,000 for the week. 

 

 

The Plein Fun Fest competition is sponsored jointly by Plein Air Palm Beach (PAPB) and Old School Square. “The aim of Plein Fun Fest is to be a regional art event to support artists of South Florida. We want to have something that reflects our group and we want to be local. We are not interested in competing with the national plein air competition events,” says publicity chair, Donna Walsh.

Plein Fun Fest

 

On Saturday, February 2, 2019, the 50-juried artists will compete in Plein Fun Fest. The artists will begin painting at 9:00 am at location of their choice anywhere within the boundaries Delray Beach. This is the public’s chance to walk around, see what’s happening, talk to the artists and experience one of the best Delray Beach events.  At 4:30 pm, Marusca Gatto, Manager of the Cornell Museum at Old School Square, will jury the show, selecting those artists who will win. The awards total more than $2,000.00 cash from Plein Air Palm Beach plus prizes from local businesses.   Art sale and reception  5:30 – 7:30 pm. Silent Auction begins 6 pm.

 

Paint The Beach!

 

On Sunday, February 3, 2019, artists will line the sands of Delray Beach to Paint the Beach for just for FUN. This event is open to anyone. Plein air painting is exciting and invites viewers into the creative process: the sights, sounds, and even smells of the artists’ world.

 

A juried group of 50 plein air painters from Florida and beyond will capture the ambiance and charm of Delray Beach at Plein Fun Fest, an outdoor painting extravaganza on February 2, 2019. Delray Beach will host the fourth annual Plein Fun Fest competition sponsored jointly by Plein Air Palm Beach (PAPB) and Old School Square.

Old School Square Announces Fall Art On The Square November 10 & 11 Plus New Call For Art For February Show

The Cornell Art Museum presents Fall Art On The Square.  This premiere, free, outdoor juried show includes extraordinary original works of art from around the country.  The front lawn will be transformed into an exciting outdoor gallery on Saturday, November 10 &  Sunday, November 11.  Enjoy live music, refreshments and visit the Museum with a special $5 admission!  The Rickie Report shares the details and some sneak peeks as well as a Call to Artists for the Spring Art On The Square which takes place February 9 & 10th.  Artist deadline is November 26th.  Art lovers, mark your calendars now!

​The Southern Handcraft Society, Pineapple Grove Chapter, Delray Beach, ​celebrates its ​26th ​Juried art and craft show, “An Olde Fashioned Holiday”, at Old School Square. All items are hand made ​by local crafters and artists​ and many are one-of-a-kind works of art. Southern Handcraft Society, Pineapple Grove Chapter, Delray Beach is over 20 years old. We have over 60 members consisting of local artists and crafts people and are welcoming to newcomers.

We meet the 1st Wednesday of each month at the Senior Center at Veterans Park at 7 pm.

Our local artists and crafters create one-of-a-kind works of art. Our Limited Edition ornaments are spectacular and are limited to only 100 pieces.

 

 

 

 

 

 

We have gift and holiday items including Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas…along with items that are appropriate for any occasion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

We have jewelry, cards, journals, ornaments, shell art, glass art, hand-painted and turned wood pieces, hand-knit hats, sweaters, and blankets, aprons purses, quilts, pillows and many other items. We also feature food and candy items. Prepare to be incredibly amazed by all of our local talent!

 

 

 

 

“We are a group of extremely talented and crafty people who create paintings, cards, journals, jewelry, knitted items, dolls, stuffed animals, quilts, etc. We’re friendly! We’re very funny and we always welcome new members”, they tell The Rickie Report.
