Linda Golden Offers VIP Tour of Fort Lauderdale Artists Studios and Museum of Art
Linda Golden is a woman of many talents. The Rickie Report wrote previously about the felting class she offered through the Armory Art Center. Linda’s passion for all things art is conveyed in her small group VIP Art Tours. The first one of the season will take place on January 9th and focus on Fort Lauderdale. Linda Golden will be leading a small VIP Group Tour to visit several Fort Lauderdale artists’ studios, enjoy lunch, and experience a VIP docent-led tour of the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale. This tour is self-driven, no motor coach will be provided. Everyone is ENCOURAGED to car pool as parking in both locations is not overgenerous. The cost of the tour is $50.00 . This includes entrance fees, lunch, and a generous donation to the museum on behalf of our group. It does not include parking or any other expenses you may occur.
The Tour begins promptly at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 9th at the first artist’s studio. Attendees will meet a number of prominent artists, including Madeline Denaro, Mary Lou Siefker, Francie Bishop Good and the Girls’ Club Collection located in the Third Avenue Art District.
At noon, attendees will drive to the Museum of Art, Fort Lauderdale and enjoy a lovely lunch at the Books and Books Cafe. At 1:30, Jorge Santis, Curator of the William Glackens exhibit, will lead the group. Mr. Santis is a recipient of the Best Curators Award and has been featured in a number of publications.
Girls’ Club has engaged Miami artist team TMSisters – sisters Monica and Natasha Lopez de Victoria – to collaborate with the collection of contemporary art by women amassed by Fort Lauderdale collectors Francie Bishop Good and David Horvitz. and curate the 2013/2014 exhibition. The mission of Girls’ Club is to educate the public and to serve as a resource for art students and scholars, curators and practicing artists on the contributions of women to the field of contemporary art. Girls’ Club produces exhibitions, educational programming, publications and events that change lives, nurture local artists, and inspire cultural growth in Broward County.
