The Palm Room in Harbour Bay Plaza at Sewall’s Point, Stuart announces the premiere fine art exhibition on Wednesday, November 6. The Martin Artisans Guild will showcase six artists: Jane Baldridge, Lorrie Goss, Helen Kagan, Carol Kepp, Mia Lindberg, and Amber Moran at the free Opening Reception. All professional artists with a long list of accomplishments, this promises to be a strong and dramatic show! The Rickie Report shares the details and highlights each of the artists. The Palm Room will be open to the public Wednesdays through Saturdays, with afternoon and evening hours.

MEET THE ARTISTS:
Jane Baldridge
Jane Baldridge with her Artworks
Jane Baldridge’s breadth of artistry has brought her works to Lincoln Center, Times Square, Louvre Museum in Paris, Mint Museum, the Cameron Museum of Art, Fayetteville Museum of Art, World Festival of Art on Paper in Slovenia, and the Library of Congress. Her newest art focuses on erosion and alchemy. She has created in 3D, using found objects, clay, sculpture, and stained glass as well as in 2D with drawing, painting, and groundbreaking digital media.
Jane tells The Rickie Report, “Being a creative requires being somewhat fearless. Unafraid to make something new and so different that no one understands what it is”. She is a licensed boat captain and has lived on a boat with her husband and dog. Now settled in on land in Stuart, she portrays her profound respect for water through her art pieces. She shares, “I am passionate about the planet, especially about the ocean, rivers, and bays. I have profound respect for the power of water and wind”.
Lorrie Goss
Dog Bowl by Lorrie Goss
Lorrie Goss creates original and custom interior water fountain art perfectly suitable for a home or professional office décor. The water vessels as well as the interior sculptural pieces are hand sculpted from stoneware clay. Each is designed to complement and enhance the color and theme of the base fountain. Many pieces include hand crafted copper elements and a subtle light that adds even more interest for the functional water flow design. All pieces are original and no two are alike.
She tells The Rickie Report, “I am inspired by the beauty of nature with both aquatic as well as terrestrial influences. I didn’t set out to be an environmental artist, however, my work focuses on the natural matter of the earth encompassing the characteristics of clay, water, chemical elements and how they transform into vibrant colors through the fire within the kiln”.
Helen Kagan

Helen Kagan PhD is a holistic therapist/artist and one of the originators in creating art with an intention to heal. For over 20 years, she has been developing er unique concept ©”Healing Arts” based on her beliefs in the mind-body-spirit connection, and art as a catalyst for healing individuals, society, and the environment. Her exhibits span the globe.
Helen tells The Rickie Report, “I believe art heals. I believe now, more than ever, our World needs these positive energy and spiritually-based intentions, beliefs, and values. I believe my vibrant and passionate art can enhance healing to those in need and make a difference in people’s lives”.
Carol Kepp

Carol Kepp was educated in advertising at the Cleveland Institute of Art and returned to fine art with a strong desire to help adults find their hidden talent creating paintings. Her impressionist style artworks have won numerous awards both regionally and nationally. The colors of the ocean inspire Carol to create mesmerizing seascapes, where viewers can find serenity among the waves.
Mia Lindburg

Mia Lindberg tells The Rickie Report, “Freedom is my guide when traditional theologies are questioned, and ethereal paths are chosen. My work ‘Bridges’ the space between life and impermanence through vessels and sculpture on my wonder filled journey”.
Over 50 years ago, Mia’s ;eve of art was nurtured on her farm in rural Pennsylvania. Although clay had always been one of her interests, her focus was Horticulture, applied plant sciences. Her search for just the right vessels/pottery to nurture her projects landed Mia in the Ceramics Lab. She realized that the plants were just a road leading her back to her true passion! Mia’s metal sculptures compliment her ceramics, offering art lovers a variety of mediums.
Amber Moran
Amber Moran with her Artworks
Amber Moran is a watercolor and ink artist whose artistic style of “thinking out of the box” creates a unique “window” and colorful take on the Florida lifestyle. She draws the viewer into each painting so they feel as if they are swimming in the coral with the fish, canoeing under the cypress trees, and hearing the sounds blowing through the palm trees. A regional, national and international award-winning artist, Amber’s distinct style and riotous colors share her passion for coastal conservation.I have always felt extremely passionate about color and detail.
She tells The Rickie Report, “I gain inspiration every day from sights and sounds, including our Florida beaches, canals and nearby fishing villages. My goal is to draw you as the viewer ,into my art. I want to help the viewer focus in on a particular section of my artwork while seeing the whole picture. I achieve this by creating a focus that casts a “window” of color on a section of the painting with watercolor paints. I then extend my work out onto the mat with black watercolor paint and ink. I like to this of this as “thinking outside the box”.

The Martin Artisans Guild was created to nurture the production of Fine Art and Craft, increase awareness of local art, facilitate development and networking among Working Artists and create marketing venues for our members.·

ALL Guild members are required to serve on at least one volunteer committee.ALL NEW Guild members are required to be JURIED into the Guild; You will be accepted as either a Professional Level Artist member or an Emerging Level Artist member.
- Professional Level Members will not be required to jury into future Guild Exhibits, Events or Martin County Open Studio Tour. - Emerging Level Artists are artists who are aspiring to become Juried Professional members. Emerging members will need to be juried before each event/exhibit, and will be eligible to reapply as a Professional Level Member after 1 year.
- Student Members MUST be students with a school ID Card or a student of a MCOST Teaching Artist.
- Supporting Members are Supporters of the Arts in the Community.
MAG Membership Year runs 3/1- end of February yearly to coordinate with the MCOST schedule.
