The 51st annual Gem, Mineral, Jewelry, Bead & Fossil Show takes place November 18th and 19th at the South Florida Fair Grounds. The Rickie Report shares the details plus a coupon for reduced admission charges, which may be duplicated as often as you like. This is a family oriented, culturally stimulating show. Proceeds provide the operating budget for the Gem & Mineral Society for the following year. Celebrate the Gem & Mineral Society’s 50th Anniversary at their mega exposition on November 19 and 20th at the Expo Center of the South Florida Fairgrounds.  Over 80 national dealers will offer a wide range of merchandise—fine jewelry, southwestern Indian jewelry, bead jewelry, loose beads, rocks and minerals for specimen collecting and cutting, loose precious and semi-precious gemstones, settings and findings, fossils, meteorites, tools, books and more.  The highlight this year will be a guest lecturer form the Smithsonian Museum who will be speaking on Pegmatites as well as bringing a showcase of new specimen acquisitions for the Museum! The Rickie Report shares the details and some images form last year’s event.  Bring the whole family – The show is well timed before Christmas for plenty of opportunities for shopping for all budget levels, limited to unlimited!

Over 80 dealers from all over the country offer a wide range of merchandise—fine jewelry, southwestern Indian jewelry, bead jewelry, loose beads, rocks and minerals for specimen collecting and cutting, loose precious and semi-precious gemstones, settings and findings, fossils, meteorites, tools, books, and much, much more.

The show offers a wide range of educational activities and exhibits. Visit the demonstration area where society members will be showcasing skills learned in club classes. Demonstrations will include faceting, cabochon making, chain making, and bead stringing just to name a few. Hourly door prizes awarded both days, a show Grand Prize drawing will be held. We have also invited several local education based clubs to display at our show, as well as the South Florida Science Center and Aquarium. Guest speakers will present a variety of educational topics.

The Gem and Mineral Society of the Palm Beaches was founded in 1966 as a club for like-minded individuals who shared a passion for gems, minerals, the lapidary arts and geological sciences. 50 years later it still serves residents of Palm Beach County with those interests and more. At the clubs workshop one can find a variety of work being done – from silversmithing to cutting and polishing precious and semiprecious gemstones.  At meeting, members spread knowledge and fellowship for members of all ages. The youngest of the club members are mentored in the junior rockhound program with activities specially crafted just for them.
