See how artists interpreted “Biblio” at Art Synergy BIBLIO 2020/ArtPalmBeach! From January 31 – February 3, the Palm Beach County Convention Center will be charged with artistic energy, which you’ll want to be part of! Celebrating its 7th year and guided by Rolando Chang Barrero and Ilene Gruber Adams, the field of artists was opened internationally. It was juried by John Cutrone, Director of the Jaffe Center for Book Arts at Florida Atlantic University Libraries. If you want to volunteer to be part of this exhilarating event, we need you! Art Synergy is the unique countywide movement of artists, businesses, and civic leaders committed to unifying and promoting the diverse culture of Palm Beach County’s and South Florida’s vibrant arts community. A juried exhibition celebrating the book as art. Visual artist have for centuries created illuminated manuscripts, visual journals, art books, sculptures and other renditions and interpretations of “book.” Since antiquity the creation and construction of books, be they bound or loses sheets, has served as an important and vital means of documenting and preserving culture with text and/or imagery. From the original scrolls of Ancient Egypt created on papyrus to the magnificent sculptural books of Anselm Kiefer creator of lead sheets- the book has taken many forms.
