Autumn is here and so are a new round of events at the Boca Raton Museum School of Art!  Term 2B offers 4 week classes daily.  Visit the Student Exhibition on Tuesday, November 20th. Join in the Saturday classes for Teens and Youth starting November 10th.  Mark your calendars for the Open House at the Art School on Sunday, December 9th. Let’s Get Painting…An Introduction to Acrylics    Ages  10-17

Saturdays November 10 and 17 from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM

(Includes Lunch break)

 

 

 

 

 

Explore and expand your personal painting skills in an open and encouraging studio environment. This course will focus on the fundamentals of acrylic painting while encouraging creative self-expression. Emphasis will be placed on color theory, basic skill exploration, the principles and elements of design and so much more! Students will learn about their favorite artists and experiment with a variety of techniques. They will have a completed painting at the end of the workshop. A range of subject matter will be explored including still life and nature.

After 10 exciting weeks of Youth Summer Art Camp, The Boca Raton Museum School of Art is ready to share the work from its artistic campers and celebrate their amazing talent at a Free Exhibition on Sunday, August 12.  Stop by the Free Open House on Saturday, August 25 to meet the faculty, enjoy demonstrations and raffles!  The Art School’s Faculty Exhibition takes place on August 30.  The Rickie Report shares the details and some sneak peeks.  The new semester starts September 4th, with over 120 classes per week!

After a very productive and exciting 10 weeks of Youth Summer Art Camp, we are ready to share the work from our artistic campers and celebrate their amazing talent. Please join us on Sunday, August 12 from 1 to 3PM at the Boca Raton Museum of Art in Mizner Park for the closing reception. Campers, family and friends will have the opportunity to visit all exhibitions at the Museum for free only on that day.

A fun afternoon to meet the teachers, visit the studios and see demonstrations of art techniques such as Drawing, Painting, Pottery, Ceramics and Clay Sculpture, Photography, Textiles Transformation, Japanese Flower Arrangement, Graphic Novels and Jewelry. Boca Raton Museum Art School Offers Special Exhibits And Discover Jewelry Open Studios

The Boca Raton Museum Art School is bustling!   Meet Student Artist, Philip Glick at a Free Reception on October 14th. And don’t miss the Teens Photography Exhibit at Carre d’artistes Art Gallery in Mizner Park! The School is offering prospective students  a special event on Saturday, October 15th.  It is FREE, but you Must RSVP!  There are people who are interested in jewelry making but don’t know where to start or the different options, with the wide range of jewelry classes available. Check out everything from making silver and gold jewelry to leather jewelry, art clay jewelry, and enameling. While silver fabrication may require longer commitment, the other creative techniques can be mastered in a few sessions and use less expensive materials.   Mid-autumn classes beginning on October 24th and The Rickie Report shares the details!

A special solo exhibit of paintings by Philip Glick will be on view in the Art School Gallery.  Everyone is invited to the Opening Reception on Friday, October 14th  from 6- 8 pm.  Philip Glick is a sixteen year old student at Spanish River High School who has been taking art classes at the Art School since 2013. This is a unique exhibit because the art school does not usually present solo exhibitions. Philip has developed a personal style, sureness of painting handling, and ambitious scale that belies his age.

Carre d’ Artistes Gallery in Mizner Park is hosting an exhibit of photographs by twelve students from the Art School’s after school teens photography class. Lew Lautin, photography instructor, initiated this collaboration. “We are very excited about this opportunity for our students to experience exhibiting in a professional art gallery and appreciate Carre d’Artistes hosting this exhibit,” stated Mr. O’Neill. Carre De Artistes is an international gallery with 33 locations worldwide. “Community is important to us,” said Mr. Castaneda, owner of the Gallery, “we maintain a close relationship with our artists worldwide. Create and design a serving platter from scratch. Roll out the wet and learn ways to add texture and designs. Your platter will be kiln-fired and ready to be glazed on the following Saturday.

Create your own unique jewelry using Florida black coral. Learn to bend, polish the color and finish with sterling silver findings.
