Call For Entries: “The ARTNADO Village – The Best Of All Worlds” On February 11 & 12, 2017

Artistic Synergy Inc. will be offering an expanded and more robust version of ARTNADO at the Expo Center of the South Florida Fairgrounds.  “The ARTNADO Village – The Best of All Worlds” will take place on February 11 & 12, 2017.  Locally known as “season”, when 40% of the wealth of America is in residence and a large population of Canadian “snowbirds” are in their winter retreats, ARTNADO will be offering a total of $2,500.00 in prize money.  The Rickie Report shares the details about the expanded show’s different venues, including indoor and outdoor spaces.

Artnado201756fc4e5041082

Artnado201756fd9833a1400

One of the innovative concepts of ARTNADO this year will be the “Private Gallery”, which will allow artists, who have not been able to reach out to patrons at art fairs, the opportunity to do so. (These are private sales and as such will not be eligible for the prize money). In keeping with Artistic Synergy’s philosophy of helping artists, any artist who submits work to the Private Gallery and then subsequently sells that work prior to the show (which, of course, is the goal) will be allowed to submit an alternate piece for judging without any additional entry fee.

Artnado2017Image00023
All applications and fees will be handled through ZAPP, a national interface between artists and promoters, which is free for artists to join. Each artist submitting an entry for the Private Gallery will also be required to email Artistic Synergy an artist statement as well as a description of each piece. This will be required, so that their Docents may represent you as best as they may.

Additionally the ARTNADO Village will be comprised of the following:

The Venues

50,000 square feet indoors and 10,000 outdoors

The Private Gallery –

A small curated enclosed Gallery showcasing 8 to 12 works of art by artists who cannot or do not do art shows.

The Grand Salon –

The massive indoor space reserved for Fine Art.

Avenue of the Arts –

The outdoor portico leading to the concourse buildings. Ideal for large sculptures, outdoor designs, kinetic pieces and living art.

The Concourse Buildings –

This is where the journey through the diversity of American arts begins. Within these walls, completely separate from the Fine Arts building and offered for the first time, patrons may explore the intricacies of: the Human Form, the Art of the Tattoo (the most unforgiving canvas), Fantasy Art, Exotic Art, Pinups, Dark Art, and whatever else the American mind is currently creating.

In addition to the traditional 10 x10 space they offer 10×20 and a 20×20 gallery space in the Grand Salon only

– air conditioning

-24 hour security

-prior day load-in

– gated secured vender parking

– maintained indoor restrooms

– better illumination of your art (no tents or tent tops, just pro panels or, however, else you want to set up your “gallery”

-available electricity for you to illuminate your work properly

If you have any questions

Please call Jack Busa at 561-557-8741

From Jack Busa, Chief Creative Executive

“We will list the categories that most fairs use but are not limiting the number. This process sometimes allows for very good artists to not be accepted because a category is full and other media, with possibly less interesting work, is still being promoted. Given that ARTNADO is inside and electricity is available, there is the opportunity for under showcased art in digital or kinetics to be shown. Given the genesis of the fair by artists and patrons, the key consideration will be the work and the creative process. There is a difference between artists who are creative, those who are artistic and those who are both. While we need to have and will have balance, we will also must try not to “lock out” deserving artists such as yourself”.

“We do not require white tents for a homogeneous look, after all, you are not all the same. There are not just parallel rows of artists. The show is laid out in a grid with small conclaves of artists surround by walkways. This optimizes corners and end-caps, and allows patrons to have a gestalt of your work”.

“You can no longer be just an artist, you need to be an artist/curator and entrepreneur. Your assigned space is yours to design as you want to represent you and your work. The most successful artists understand that for less than the price of a one time quarter page ad in a local newspaper they can create a 3D ad of their work. They have incorporated the tools necessary to develop a client base and future commission work. They have taken advantage of art/entrepreneurship courses and are marketing themselves. This show, unlike almost any other, created for individual artists, is designed for you to do that.”

Jack Busa, Chief Creative Executive, is announcing a gift of FREE 10×10 space for all area Art Associations and Art related Non-Profits. He tells The Rickie Report, “This will enable your organization to inform the public about what you do, in addition to offering membership opportunities and displaying examples of past and current events. Your members will be able to display but not sell their work from your space. Because ARTNADO is already offering the lowest price per square foot for juried art shows, we understand that artists are concerned about their expenses. Therefore, any member of an organization that takes advantage of this offer, will be given a 10% rebate on the price of the exhibition space they choose to display and sell their art.”

Any artists who has taken part in an Art Marketing Seminar involving Rickie Leiter, Publisher of The Rickie Report will be eligible for a 15% rebate on individual booth space. Fill out the ZAPP and then send a separate email to Artistic Synergy Inc telling them you have been a participant.

Jack explains, “Since all applications need to be submitted through ZAPP there is no provisions for a two-tier pricing structure. Hence a refund check will be issued ARTNADO’s move-in date on November 13th.”

This offer, when combined with the options of either a 10×10, 10×20 and even a 20×20 “personal gallery” exhibition area, offers an unprecedented exposure for most of the area’s artist.

UPCOMING STUDENT ART CONTEST

In addition, a Student Art Contest will be formally announced soon. If you know any young artists who would like to get an early start, the information is available on our website artisticsynergy.org.

ARTNADO Announces First “Director’s Discretion” Exhibitor, Laurietta Oakleaf Of Wellington, FL And Reminds Artists There Is Still Time To Apply

The ARTNADO Art Fair was conceived with the ultimate goal of helping artists showcase their work and themselves. This indoor event will take place at the South Florida Fairgrounds Expo Center on November 14th and 15th, 2015.  With double the normal exhibition space and the lowest price per square foot, Director, Jack Busa, has furthered the attempt to include artists who have financial and physical limitations through “The Director’s Discretion” category.    Please note that Artnado is sponsored by Artistic Synergy, not to be confused with Art Synergy. The Rickie Report is humbled to share the artwork of Laurietta Oakleaf, the first to achieve this honor.  We know you will be inspired by her artistry and story.

artnado-ad-1-30-15

Jack Busa tells The Rickie Report, ” The first “Director’s Discretion” space has been awarded to Laurietta Oakleaf of Wellington, FL.  We are honored to help Laurietta exhibit her artwork, not only for her artistry itself, but for how she exemplifies hope and courage.  We met her at ArtiGras, 2015, at the “Emerging Artists” area.”

“Crazy Friesian” Charcoal by Laurietta Oakleaf

Laurietta Oakleaf started riding horses when she was 13 years old.   She tells us, ” I have been drawing for over 25 years with no professional training. I have recently decided to start trying to promote and sell my drawings in hopes of getting a gallery to show my artwork.”

She explains, ” I’ve suffered from epilepsy since I was 16 and developed Chronic Inflammatory Demylenating Polyneuropathy (AKA “CIDP”) in 2001. This disease started out as Guillian-Barre syndrome, knocking me down flat and giving me a wake-up call to slow down and enjoy life and my family/friends. I was completely paralyzed from the neck down for about a month and eventually got feeling back into my upper body, but was paralyzed from the hips down for 18 months. I eventually have been able to walk in leg braces, but I still have constant episodes and any one episode could put me back forever… but so far, I am walking and this is due to my riding and my horses! Most doctors have told me that I should not be walking or I would never walk again. I did surprise them because I believed that I would and never gave up!

“Years later, I was diagnosed with Mantle Cell Lymphoma stage IV on the day that my grandfather died of Pancreatic Cancer. That was hard but I remembered how HARD my grandfather fought and he was someone that I looked up to. I now see that he is my angel and has been helping me fight and giving me strength on a daily basis. The lymphoma was a shock and led me to realize that life is good and to treasure everyone that has ever touched your life or been in it. When people hear the word, CANCER, they immediately think death. I came to realize that my two horses gave me a strength and helped to keep me here. Today, I am still fighting the pain from the cancer. I guess the fight will never go away, but I have found a strength within myself that I never knew I had.”

Laurietta has been training in Florida since 2011, when she moved here, so she could take her training seriously. Unfortunately, in October this year she had another GBS/CIDP Attack and was hospitalized for months. “I had to start rehab because of how hard it hit me this time and how hard it hit my legs. I finally was just about ready to come home when in January, I ended back in the hospital for surgery and was there for another month. Currently I am trying to get back to riding Nikki and working on my tests for this year’s events.  Since 2008, I have shown in many international competitions around the world for disabled equestrian dressage riders.”

Laurietta explains, ” I hope you realize after reading this, that I want to touch ONE person and inspire MANY people to get out and live their dreams!  Dreams are hard to come by and so many people give up on them… my goal is to qualify for the 2016 Paralympics. Through hard work and determination, I made the selection trials for 2014 WEG last year. Unfortunately, due to complications, financial problems, and my illnesses last year, we just could not make the selection trials to try for the World Equestrian Games, so I decided to hold off and keep training and work for this year.”

“Paraequestrian dressage is dressage for the disabled, but we ride and train the same as any athlete, except we get to carry a card for dispensations to help us ride. For example, I carry 2 whips in place of my legs because of the weakness here.” Selling her artwork will help Laurietta continue to support her riding and working toward the Olympics in 2016.

"I See You" by Laurietta Oakleaf

“I See You” by Laurietta Oakleaf

Laurietta looks forward to participating in several CPEDI competitions this year, including:  California in June 2015; Texas in October 2015; The Paraequestrian Nationals; Local Clinics; Winter Dressage Circuit USDF level in Wellington, FL; USDF Regionals for Level 1; Try out for the Friesian Breed Award; Attend IFSHA World Champions in Las Vegas.  She is looking for hotel sponsors or people who will give their hotel points for her to use.  She also looks forward to a European Tour next spring. All monetary donations go into the USPEA account in my name which is 501c(3). “This way whether I use this money for the CPEDI shows or for Europe, it is all monitored by the USPEA and donors know exactly where the money goes. Plus I keep yearly accounting of exactly where all my money goes so please do not ever hesitate to call and ask.”

Why should you help Laurettia?

“This is a hard question for me to answer. I believe that I would be a good representative for the USA Paralympic Team. By helping me you are also helping people around me, the people that believe in me, and the people that still need to find their strength. And I will be able to pass on your kindness to someone else. These goals that I have set are very expensive for my family and friends to keep supporting and I need your help.”

“My personal motto is “Live life to the fullest and live to every second that you are given. A disability is only a disability if you let it be, so if you take the “dis” out of disability, you have “ability” and this is what everyone needs to remember. That any dream is capable of achieving but you have to work and believe in it.”  Please consider joining me in my journey to these international shows and joining in my Parajourney with me.”

Call to Artists for “Artnado” – A New Art Show in Palm Beach County

Jack Busa is bringing a new-concept juried art show to our area. “Artnado” will take place at the South Florida Fairgrounds, featuring 2D and 3D creations on November 14th and 15th, 2015. This indoor show has a lot to offer to artists and art patrons alike. Using high-technology, patrons will be able to see participating artists’ work in situ as well as in their exhibition areas. Artists are highly encouraged to demonstrate their techniques to further inform the art loving public. Booth spaces are 10′ by 20′.  The Rickie Report applauds this trend, believing that better informed art lovers become more enthusiastic art patrons. We want to point out that there is no connection between the presenting organization, Artistic Synergy and Art Synergy (ARTWEEK at Art Palm Beach). Here are the details.

Jack Busa, of Artistic Synergy is sending out a Call to Artists for a unique juried exhibition taking place at the South Florida Fairgrounds. All artists are encouraged to apply. The Festival will feature 2D and 3D art, photography, jewelry or whatever combination the creative mind conjures. Jack explains, “‘Synergy’ is supplied with the incorporation and interaction of models, an embellishment room and ambiance music”.

Jack tells us, ‘We created ARTNADO realizing that no one can know or predict the complete buying habits of the attendees. Our juried process is designed to take into consideration the artists work from talent, inspiration and creativity and not to classify something as “not art” because it does not fit what “we” expect. If your work meets these criteria then there may be a market for it. Artists need to promote themselves or they will have a limited career. Our goal is to show your art in the most favorable way and to help you display and demonstrate your work to appeal to all potential buyers.”
