The Photo Salon at the Armory Art Center is a unique gathering place to showcase and talk about your photography. Meet other photographers and participate in stimulating discussions about what’s old, what’s new, and what’s happening in the world of photography. It’s a terrific opportunity to share your photographic experiences and get positive, constructive feed back of your work.  The Rickie Report shares the details and urges photographers to take part in these sessions, which are led by award winning photographer, Barry Schein.

On April 9, 2019 Sofia Maduro with be doing an  illustrated talk entitled “The Enlightened Viewer”, which gives an overview of what makes a good photograph, and gives tips for how to take a more discerning look at photographs.

Barry Schein, award winning professional photographer and instructor, will be facilitating the salon. Everyone is welcome and we look forward to seeing you. Please bring no more than five digital or print photographs.

The Armory Art Center’s art school and galleries provide creative opportunities to enhance your life. The Armory has served the community for over 30 years. The mission of the Armory Art Center is to inspire the creation and experience of art and the Armory’s vision is to be the leading community resource for arts education. Greg Matthews Shares Photography Insights at Artists of Palm Beach County’s Next Sharing Meeting

The Artists of Palm Beach County invite you to meet photographer Greg Matthews at their next Sharing Meeting.  A Florida native, Greg uses his creative eye to show the still-natural and wild areas of Florida. He hopes that his work can help inspire and create awareness of how important it is to protect these natural resources.  Greg’s art work can also be found at Continuum, one of the Art Synergy galleries, until February 8th.  The Artists of Palm Beach meeting takes place February 10th. The Artists of Palm Beach County will hold their monthly artists’ sharing gathering on Monday, February 10, 2014 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Photographer Greg Matthews will be hosting the event at 150 Gregory Place in West Palm Beach.  The evening will offer the opportunity to socialize with artists and at the same time enjoy Greg’s photographs which are both beautiful and meaningful.

A Florida native, Greg uses the tool of photography to showcase the still wild and natural areas of Florida.  With a main focus on conservation, he captures images from our many different environmental habitats and ecosystems. He hopes that his work can help inspire and create awareness of how important it is to protect these natural resources.

Greg tells The Rickie Report, “I try to take exciting and unique images of the wildlife I shoot in an effort to create interest in the animal subjects of the photos,” states the artist. “It gives people a different view of what’s going on around us.”  His inspiring photographs have been exhibited across the state in numerous venues as well as for photography contests.

Greg’s photographs have been accepted into the prestigious Continuum exhibit, which kicked off Art Synergy/Art Palm Beach 2014.  The gallery is located at   312 Clematis Street  W. Palm Beach, FL and will remain open until February 8th.  The Gallery Hours are:   Thurs., February 6, 4:00pm-8:00pm.  Fri., February 7, 4:00pm-8:00pm.  Sat. February 8, 12:00pm-8:00pm (closing reception)
Mark your calendars for February 10th.  Admission is free for members of APBC, but the general public is invited to attend the event for a $5.00 admission fee. Payment will be collected at the door and will be applied towards the membership fee, if one wishes to join at the meeting.
