Metal sculptures, homemade dips and sauces, one-of-a-kind paintings, hand-painted clothing and more artisan creations will once again fill The Avenue® Viera from October 14 – 15 during the Fall return of The Avenue® Viera Craft Festival. The free, outdoor event brings together the state’s top craft artisans to the popular lifestyle shopping center for a two day, made-in-the-USA artistic celebration.  The Rickie Report shares the details and some sneak peeks.

Presented by American Craft Endeavors (ACE), Florida’s longest established craft festival producer, unique and affordable arts and crafts will be showcased in the open-air, pedestrian friendly setting. The craft festival is pet friendly for leashed animals, and includes a full greenmarket of live plants, handmade soaps, delicious edibles and more. Leather works, customized collectibles, practical and whimsical works of all price ranges will be available for purchase. Each artisan is on-site during the entire festival, allowing patrons to meet and to discover the techniques and inspirations behind each piece as they sample and shop from the gallery-style booths.

The 9th Annual Downtown Delray Beach New Year’s Weekend Craft Festival takes place on December 26 – 27, 2015.  Featuring 100 leading crafters from throughout the U.S. and their finest work including original handmade crafts, functional art and affordable gift items. Walk along this outdoor marketplace at the intersection of 4th Avenue & Atlantic Avenue, spanning ½ mile of 4th Avenue, north and south of Atlantic Avenue in downtown Delray Beach. The artistic media include folk art, pottery, handmade jewelry, wall hangings, ceramics, paintings, personalized gifts, handmade clothing, scented soaps and body products. This event is FREE to the public and a portion of proceeds will Support the Arts, the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority and the Local Economy.  The Rickie Report is pleased to share the details and introduce you to three of the exhibitors: Simon Cherkasski (mixed media sculpture), Mel Hamrick (wood) and Inna Schoeler (wearable fiber art).

Mel is a Fretwork and Mixed Media Artist who creates wooden portraits on a scroll saw by hand. All  designs are her own original creations. She adds other elements to her work such as inlaid stained glass, acrylic painted backgrounds, and pyrography classifying some pieces as Mixed Media as well.

 

 

The Downtown Delray Beach New Year’s Weekend Craft Festival, December 26 – 27, is American Craft Endeavor’s final show of the year in South Florida. The 21st Annual Downtown Delray Beach Craft Festival takes place on October 3rd and 4th. Over 100 leading crafters from throughout the U.S. will be selling their finest work including original handmade crafts, functional art and affordable gift items. The artistic media include folk art, pottery, handmade jewelry, wall hangings, ceramics, paintings, personalized gifts, handmade clothing, scented soaps and body products.
