Howard Alan Events Launches “Live Well Be Well Tour” Presented by FPL SolarNow™ During The  31st Annual Las Olas Art Fair October 20 – 21

“I actually began my career decades ago in medicine, and opened one of the first organic fast food restaurants in the state,” says longtime producer Howard Alan. “My wife and I have always been health-conscious, and know the value of a healthy body boosting creativity and longevity. Most of our regular art festival patrons are just as particular about the environment, their health and lifestyle choices as they are about their art.” This observation over the years led to Alan being among the first to incorporate recycling options and natural food offerings into his art festivals, and eventually, to the creation of the “Live Well Be Well Tour”.

Studies have recently proven that exercise and a healthy lifestyle not only stave off dementia, but also stimulate the Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), which encourages the creation of new brain cells in the hippocampus. This is the same part of the brain that is critical for long-term memory retention and creative thinking.  “Most of our longtime artists themselves have adopted a healthy regimen in order to do the tours, which can be physically grueling, and they say it keeps them creatively inspired. They also draw key inspiration from our environment, so sustainability is as critical to them as it is to our patrons,” continues Alan. “A healthy lifestyle allows us to think creatively, the environment sustains us, and art enables us to bring that creativity to life and to inspire others. All these things working together define what it means to live well and to be well.”
