Jack Busa, of Artistic Synergy sent out a Call to Artists for a unique juried exhibition taking place at the South Florida Fairgrounds. The number of nationally recognized artists who applied is exceptional. Artnado will feature 2D and 3D art, photography, jewelry or whatever combination the creative mind conjures. Jack explains, “‘Synergy’ is supplied with the incorporation and interaction of models, an embellishment room and ambient music”.

Jack tells The Rickie Report, ‘We created ARTNADO realizing that no one can know or predict the complete buying habits of the attendees. Our juried process took into consideration the artists’ work from talent, inspiration and creativity…we did not want to classify something as “not art” because it does not fit what “we” expect… Artists need to promote themselves or they will have a limited career. Our goal is to show the artists’ creativity in the most favorable way…and demonstrate their work to appeal to all potential buyers.”

Joni Berte tells The Rickie Report, ” My artistic interests are endless! I appreciate all forms of art; traditional, classic, deviant, outsider, you name it! It is my belief that there are many ways to express oneself and art is food for the soul. Self-expression is paramount to the artist and the drive to create is as impossible to stop as a runaway train. For the past few years I have focused on Day of the Dead art, and have developed a unique style that is the hallmark of my pieces.”

Personal Shrine by Joni Berte

She continues, “While many of my Day of the Dead designs, particularly those found on my Sugar Skull masks, are typical of the genre, my execution is of the highest quality — especially in the areas of line detail and color. I am currently working on assemblage art in the form of Personal Shrines and am finding it a very versatile and rewarding medium. Additionally, I am collaborating with my father (Bill Lohnes) on Fantasy Dragonflies. My new Fire-Carved Boxes are for sale at Rare Earth Gallery in Stuart, Florida.”

Kokó Brandão’s figurative forms magically capture the beauty of female portraiture – while creating art that is completely modern and original. Kokó is inspired by the graceful elegance of the female form. At times classically alluring, demure and provocative, her art has a pervasive sense of sophistication. Her signature use of expressive color as well as the dynamic application of paint on the canvas combines to create her uniquely recognizable style. The giveaway prize, a 40”x16” original acrylic painting on canvas titled “Gold” and valued at $850, will be on display in her booth where registration will also take place. No purchase is necessary to participate and the winner will be announced during the final hour of the art show. To learn more about this talented artist and explore her work go to  www.kokobrandao.com.

Viewers report, “Looking at Kokó Brandão’s work, you always get a feeling of the artist’s soul – tension behind the painting … interaction of strong tones and the bright color impact … abstract elements and the sensual dynamics”.

“As a wildlife artist and marine illustrator I enjoy a rare experience, someone who truly loves his work. My many years as a fishing guide and sportsman led me to the most rewarding and fun career anyone could ask for. If I paint it, I’ve done it, truth in the artwork is very important to me. As a true Florida native, I have over 40 years experience fishing, hunting and exploring the wild places most people never see. I hope you enjoy viewing my artwork. If you get a chance, stop by one of the art shows or tournaments and say hi. Tight lines, Steve”.

STEVEN LLOYD

Steven tells The Rickie Report, “I started out doing custom paint work on motorcycles and vehicles and everything else in between. I attended an airbrush seminar in Charlotte back in 2004 and noticed an aluminum panel that someone had pinstriped. It caught my eye and I inquired about it and one thing has just led to another. The possibilites are just endless what you can do with this style of art”.

"Time2Burn" by Steven Lloyd

“Time2Burn” by Steven Lloyd

“One of the things that I notice that I feel separates me from other artists is my finish work. People look at my art and they think that it’s glass, but its actually clear coated metal. When you spend hours polishing a work of art to the point where someone thinks that it is glass, I know I have done what I set to accomplish!”

"Job" by Steven Lloyd

About the FREE Art Giveaway piece:

“This piece features aluminum grade sheeting that has been hand ground into several different background patterns. The colored portions of the art have been through a process that I designed called “pigment flotation” in which the coloring is floated in a flamable solvent and set on fire. Once the chemicals have burned off you are left with a one of a kind unique design! Other highlights are then added to create depth. The art is then clear coated and polished to perfection”.

"Modern Spectrum" by Steven Lloyd

“Modern Spectrum” by Steven Lloyd

Steve goes on to explain, “I call this type of work “Ground Metal Art”. It is a very rare and unique style of art, and is made up of aluminum grade sheeting and automotive urethane paint materials. Each work of art is a true one of a kind. My paintings are full of energetic flowing lines that love the reflection of light to create that ultra modern feel. The colored artwork is created using a transparent urethane paint system that resembles the look of a hologram. In the past recent months I have discovered a new style that I call “pigment flotation” in which I float the colored pigments and then set them on fire to create a very unique burnt effect on the panels. These pieces have become very popular and are best viewed up close to see the hidden details. Most of the art is clear coated several times for maximum protection”.

Event Summary

The 6th Annual Boca Raton Fine Art Show™ on January 24 & 25, 2015 is held in a premium location in the heart of downtown Boca Raton on Federal Highway at Palmetto Park Road. The location has an effect on the type of patrons it draws, who trend toward affluence with “money to spend”.  In its third year, this art fair was voted #68 in the country by Art Fair Sourcebook.

As part of the Hot Works™ family of events, the Boca Raton Fine Art Show™ has earned a reputation for quality and profitability in a relatively short time, having just celebrated its 5th Anniversary earlier this year. Patty Narozny is a wonderful promoter who cares about the artists. Strong crowds and sales are reasons most artists will return. In 2014, average reported sales were $4,709.91, which included a painter who zeroed out. Great selection of artists with high quality work. All work is original and personally handmade by the artist in the show. Hot Works events are juried by art professionals who each have more than 30 years of art education and art fair experience. Supreme advertising and promotional campaign on broadcast TV, radio, print, social media, banners, posters, post cards, and more.

TESTIMONIALS

“Nobody cares more about the quality of her shows and the honesty and integrity of her artists than Patty Narozny.”

Les Slesnick, Retired Photographer, Orlando, FL

“Thanks so much for all that you do to put on a great show.  I especially appreciate your personal attention.  You are among the finest show promoters in the business; you always consider artists’ needs first and that is rare.”

John Wayne Jackson, Sculpture, Black Mountain, NC

“Park understands the serious effort and dedication required to produce a successful art show. Moreover, she had very kind words for a person whom she sees as a leader in that regard. The show promoter who is hands down the most concerned about the well-being of her artists and consistently puts on a great show is….Patty Narozny (of) Hot Works.”

Herion Park, Fiber, Sarasota, FL, June 2014 – Sunshine Artist Magazine

“We very much enjoy working with you and participating in your events. Just let us know if there is anything we can do to help grow your business, so that we can do more shows with you. You are a breath of fresh air in an industry that typically see no problem taking advantage of artists for their own financial gratification – whether it’s other private promoters or “non-profit” groups that use artists to “fundraise” for their own purposes.”

Lee Wilson, Painting, Nashville, TN

The Community

Boca Raton, FL is centrally located along South Florida’s east coast, equidistant from West Palm Beach to the north and Fort Lauderdale to the south. The City of Boca Raton provides a unique blend of urban and suburban lifestyles. The 24th most populous city in Florida, Boca Raton covers over 29 square miles and enjoys five miles of oceanfront. The Boca Raton Fine Art Show™ is held outdoors in the heart of the city, Downtown Boca, on north Federal Highway, between Palmetto Park Road and N.E. 2nd Street, within Sanborn Square Park. The location has an effect on the type of patrons it draws, who trend toward affluence with “money to spend”. In its third year, this art fair was voted #68 in the country by Art Fair Sourcebook™, one of the nation’s leading art festival periodicals.

The City of Boca Raton has become a regional business leader attracting cutting edge businesses and corporate headquarters over the last several decades benefiting from a stable business environment. However, this is not the time to simply rest on one’s laurels. Increased competition and global economic conditions require a pro-active approach to future economic development. Attracting and retaining successful businesses means that Boca Raton will continue to have the high quality of life that makes it the premier community in South Florida. In the next year, more than 1,000 residences will be added to Downtown Boca by 2015.

There is $1,500 in artist awards: two $500 Purchase Award Prizes, and five $100 Awards of Excellence. In addition, there are five non-monetary Awards of Distinction, of which the purpose is to increase sales for five additional artists. All award winners, regardless of award level, receive one of our eye-catching, gorgeous two-foot-long ribbons that draw people into the booth. Awards are given at judges’ discretion based on same rules for jurying, which is technique/execution, quality, originality and booth appearance. The winning artists are automatically invited to participate in the following year’s event and the jury fee is waived.

Youth Art Competition

As part of our commitment to include art education in the Boca Raton Fine Art Show™ and the southeast Florida community as a whole, a youth art competition for grades 6-12 or ages 9-19 is integrated into the art fair. Sponsored by Hot Works, LLC and the Institute for the Arts & Education, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization, young artists are invited to apply with their original and personally handmade art. The competition gives budding, young artists a golden opportunity to begin learning the rules of being part of a professional art show and exhibition. This youth art competition is provided with prime space within the show to display all of the youth art entries, and $250 in cash awards is provided for the young winners.

As art programs are being dramatically cut and eliminated in schools nationwide, the need for such initiatives is made even more relevant. Students are encouraged to speak with the professional artists in the show, and to ask them questions about participating in art shows as a career. They are asked not to interrupt an artist if he/she is busy with a patron in the booth. The art fair provides these students with an unmatched learning experience, and exposes family to art work that they would not have otherwise seen. Criteria for judging the youth art are based on technique/execution and originality.

The Promise
