Paula Burns is a recent member to the Lake Worth Art League and is already part of their newest exhibit!   Paula’s photography is vibrant, with a focus on nature and especially flowers.  She travels the country to find gardens which will not only inspire her, but other viewers.  The Rickie Report hopes you will stop by the Lake Worth Art League’s Gallery to experience Paula’s wonderful photography!  More details are in this article.

Paula currently works as an Insurance Placement Specialist.  Photography has been her avocation for years.  “It became the way that I healed after a painful period in my life.  Going out into gardens and seeing how nature consistently reminds us of the full circle of life (life, death, rebirth) was helpful,” she says.

Paula generally plans a trip go to a garden because of an exhibit.  “I really enjoy gardens when there is a specific exhibit such as the Chihuly exhibit at Fairchild and the Zimbabwe Sculpture at Naples Botanical garden.  This Spring I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in DC.  The tulip was part of the Tulip Library Exhibit in front of the Tidal Basin”.

Paula tells The Rickie Report, “I shot digital with a point and shoot camera (a Sony DSCHX10).  I get so excited when I see a shot that appeals because of the way the light hits it or the shadows that I want to shoot it right then!”

Paula has been selling matted copies of her pictures to friends and co-workers for several years.  She recently started having them put on canvas.

Paula shares, “Hopefully my pictures bring some of that to life.  My inspirations for my work are Georgia O’Keefe and Ansel Adams.”  She is grateful for the support of her Lake Worth Art League colleagues, who encouraged her to participate in this exhibit.

The Lake Worth Art League (LWAL) was founded in 1941.  It is a nonprofit 501C[3] educational organization to further the study and development of art and enhance the cultural life of its members in the Lake Worth and surrounding Communities.
