Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach Offers Learning, Fun, Resources for Everyone

The Rickie Report is proud to share the details of only SOME of the MANY programs, activities and resources of the Mandel Public Library of West Palm Beach. So many children rely on the breakfast and lunch meals provided at their schools.  What happens during the summer when they cannot get to the school?   Stop by the Mandel Public Library to see. Good friends, Janet and Bob Nakushian, introduced us to this “community learning center” par excellence.  We share their Challenge as well as some varied programs available to everyone.  The Rickie Report hopes you will share this article with others.  We’re happy to share some GOOD news!  Spread the word!

Dog Tales ( from the Dog’s Owner)

Molly and I love being involved in the Dog Tales Program.  We have seen very shy children come out of their shells when reading to her.  Many of the children are repeat customers.  They love reading to Molly and they love choosing the books that they get to take home as part of the program.  You would think that we are giving them gold.  I love that we are encouraging them to read at home and to build their own small libraries. This is such a worthwhile program and we are proud to be a part of it.     ~  Kerry, volunteer and owner of Molly, a mixed breed rescue dog

What does the Library Mean to You?

“The library is a valuable service for my entire family.  We attend children’s programs, check-out free movies and books and attend the yoga classes.  The best value in the community!”

“The children’s programs; summer academy, Dog Tales, story time, puppet show, movies, and homework help have been extremely helpful for my child who is struggling with learning to read.  The eBooks are a benefit I enjoy and use heavily during my long morning TriRail commute.  The library is a relaxing oasis in a busy world.”

“The library evens the playing field.  I see children here that without the library would have few options for internet, books and wholesome entertainment.  Giving the kids something positive to do will keep them out of trouble and create a better community in the long run.” ~Library Patron
