“We’ve set out to create an immersive event that invites attendees to experience the arts—with all its broad expressions and possibilities—in ways not typically considered,” says Nancy Turrell, executive director of The Arts Council of Martin County. “Each year we aim to add something memorable and we’re confident we’ve pulled that off this year. Even still, we chase this goal with a commitment to never stray from the traditional appeals that have made ArtsFest one of the longest-running and most successful art shows in the region.”

For the first time ever this year, ArtsFest will feature the Corning Museum of Glass Mobile Hot Shop, a 46-foot-long, 50,000-pound mobile glass art studio that can sculpt 2,300 °F sand into stunning works of art. This live glassmaking experience brings the artistry and education of glassmaking beyond the walls of the Corning Museum of Glass. The Mobile Hot Shop recreates a state-of-the-art studio environment and demonstrates complex hot glassmaking techniques in an immersive, narrating experience with some of the world’s top professional glassmakers, many of whom have been featured on the Netflix original show, “Blown Away”, the first-ever glass blowing competition show that pushes contestants to creative extremes in search of the “Best in Blow”.

“The Corning Museum of Glass Mobile Hot Shop delivers a premium experience as guests get an inside look and our impressive mobile station and internal heating chambers to watch how the material of glass unfolds into an art form,” said Eric Meek, senior manager of Corning’s Hot Glass Programs. “We are very excited to be a part of ArtsFest 2020 as this is the only Florida location where our Mobile Hot Shop will travel this season.”

Corning will be performing hot glass demos both days during ArtsFest. All admission tickets include a chance to win a stunning piece of custom glass art made by the Corning glassblowers.

YOUR  FAVORITE  ARTSFEST  EXPERIENCES  RETURN:

  •   ArtsFest 2020 maintains the tradition of featuring international, national and local artists in the categories of painting, drawing, mixed-media, photography, ceramics, glass, wood, sculpture and jewelry, each selected according to workmanship, originality, and artistic conception in our Artisan Experience.
  •   Back to tickle your culinary senses is the beloved Stuart Chopped Competition – modeled after the Food Network’s hit show- where pitting chefs from local, favorite restaurants engage in a two-day cooking battle royale. The intensity grips onlookers who gather for a whiff – and even a taste – of what these culinary artists cook up. The two-day competition narrows from six chefs to three before crowning a winner.
  •   Back for a second year, the Off the Wall Urban Art Competition brings artists from around the state to compete in a format that mixes graffiti roots with the polished aesthetics of modern murals. The all-day contest unfolding in front of festivalgoers will test who can best transform massive, wall-sized canvases into masterpieces conveying themes of unity, diversity and the spirit of world culture.
  •   The ARTivity Zone ensures that there’s something for everyone in the family to participate in! This area provides a host of creative projects and arts interactivity for kids—in formats both expert-facilitated and freestyle. Face painting, temporary tattoos, a petting zoo, wildlife exhibit and more will keep young art lovers entertained and educated. Families can also gather information from community partners including Martin County Parks & Recreation, Stuart Friends of the Atlantic Classical Orchestra, Students For H20, Treasure Coast Wildlife Center, Treasure Coast Classical Guitar Society, and more! Free for children 12 and under.
  •   Performing arts lovers will delight in music and dance performances taking on two stages- Memorial Stage and Banyan Stage – all weekend with performances that promise to cater to every musical taste. See full schedule of performances below.
  •   Festivalgoers looking for an elegant encounter with the arts can enjoy shaded seating in the VIP Lounge—which includes two drink tickets, catered lunch by Carrabba’s and afternoon snack bar—for $50 per ticket, per day. (Children 3 and older require a ticket.) The posh atmosphere created by Life Beautifier is inspired by Bollywood and packed with several surprise perks (along with the air-conditioned bathrooms).
