Yep! It’s that time of year we affectionately call the Dog Days of Summer. The snowbirds are gone, the sun is stronger and we are all looking for relief from the heat. Even dog-tired pooches are looking for a way to cool off.
Trot into the gallery in steamy downtown Lake Worth, cool off and unleash some of that hot cash burning a hole in your wallet. You will find art by South Florida artists with such incredible talent that they are sure to get your tail wagging. During the month of August you can sniff out all the fun, doggy-inspired art – paintings, sculpture, pottery, etc. – we have in the gallery.
To add more bark to our bite (well, more like a snap), we are partnering with another local Lake Worth business, Paws on the Avenue. They’ll be sponsoring pet adoptions at their store (525 Lake Avenue), courtesy of Palm Beach Animal Care and Control, from 6 to 9 pm on August 17 and you can find tons of dog-related items adorning their shelves. There will be added extras at both the gallery and their shop (treats, discounts, etc.) so it is worth a stroll down the block for all the goodies.
During the reception you can lap up a cool drink, get a tasty treat and howl (or bow-wow) at the moon when you see the amazing talent curled up in our gallery. We’ll even have fresh water for the canines (thank you, Paws on the Avenue) outside of both businesses. So don’t just lay down and roll over to beat the heat. Jump up, fetch your partner – or master or best friend or whatever pet name you use – and run with the big dogs to Artisans on the Ave at 630 Lake Avenue in downtown Lake Worth.
When you give a handmade piece of art to friends and loved ones created by local artists, you are also giving a gift to your community. Artisans on the Ave boasts three showrooms with an amazing selection of exquisite art created by local artists. Your invited opening night for an evening of fun, the opportunity to meet the artists and to help support your community.
