“My Octopus Teacher” by Phyllis Petrillo

“When developers, planners, and builders stop by the county building, we want them to see this exhibition and recognize the ever-growing talent in the County and St. Lucie County’s investment in our prolific cultural community,” says County Commission Chairman Sean Mitchell. “What better way to welcome people to St. Lucie County than with a gift of locally-created artwork from one of the Cultural Alliance’s talented artists.”

“Pink Hibiscus” by Barbara Z Lyons

“St. Lucie County is the Cultural Gem of the Treasure Coast,” Alyona Ushe, Cultural Alliance Executive Director, continued. “With an abundance of crazy-talented artists right here in the county, this exhibition will encourage our developers to look at the beautiful work around them as they consider decorations for their new buildings and homes.” Now, developers and builders submitting plans to county officials will have the opportunity to see an array of examples and purchase beautiful pieces to enrich their projects with art made by local St. Lucie County Artists.

“Another Language” by Clark Ogier and “Smaggy”

Alliance Music Guild Member Joette Giorges, a classical guitarist will perform in the exhibition, while acoustic singer-songwriter Nico James accompanies Alliance Art Guild Members, selling their wares in a pop-up shop. Clark Ogier, an Alliance Art Guild Member, will demonstrate his technique of creating art with programmable robots and geometric code with his “programmable partner,” named “Smaggy”.

“Celebrating Us is also our way to thank residents and St. Lucie County staff and commissioners, who recognize the importance of investing in the arts here in St. Lucie County,” says Cultural Alliance Community Engagement Manager Jake Sanders. “We see over and over again how cultural events bring tourists and money into our community, some even convincing those tourists to call St. Lucie County home permanently.”

Martin Artists Guild Offer “Blue By You” Art Exhibit From The Palm Room May 5 – June 30. View From The Comfort Of Your Own Home

For many artists being at home, spending many hours alone working on their creations, and wearing masks or other protective gear is quite normal. What they are not used to is the inability to have a reception hosting numerous people in order to show their latest art work…  Area professional artists who are members of the Martin Artisans Guild (MAG) will continue their shows at the Palm Room at Harbour Bay Plaza in Stuart, but a bit differently.  The Rickie Report shares sneak peeks of the newest exhibit.  You can view them by private appointment or virtually from the comfort of your own home.  The exhibit includes paintings, glass, jewelry, photography, metal sculpture and ceramics all of which were created using various shades of blue. Not allowing any blue moods to take over, the artists have kept up their spirits by focusing on creating new art which they hope to share with the public through this beautiful and dramatic show. We urge you to take a look and remember that cultural arts have kept us entertained and inspired during our quarantine.
