Light & Shadow Workshop: Creating 3-dimensionality

Learn the fundamentals of transforming your two-dimensional sketches into convincing three-dimensional drawings by applying the laws of light and shadow (the five areas of tone and how they relate to a light source). This is a lesson needed for renderings of any medium and subject.

Painting Skies and Clouds Workshop

Explore techniques in painting skies and clouds with an opaque medium like oil or acrylic. Understand the structure of different types of cloud formations and their characteristics to produce convincing skies in your paintings and learn how to use color to change mood.

This workshop introduces four methods of improving your sketching skills, teaches the fundamentals of light and shadow to create 3 -dimensionality and demonstrates techniques in applying tone with graphite (pencil). The word `mandala’ is a Sanskrit word meaning `circle’ or `completion’. The circle is the constant and eternal flow of energy that flows within and without. The mandala is recognized for its representation of wholeness, the cosmos and the universal life force. Join us to learn the basics of mandala making and benefit from not only your finished painting, but from the process of creating a powerful personal expression as individual as you are.
