This unique and exciting class invites artists from ALL disciplines to explore installation art and collaborate on a multi-media, interactive sculpture. This inclusive course offers the opportunity to work with fellow creatives in your chosen medium and travel outside of it at the same time. The possibilities are endless with this fun, mind-expanding, collaborative class!

The entire 7-week course will be recorded on video. The final installation art piece will be on display in the Crest Theatre building and then moved outside as a temporary installation for all to see!

PETER G. PEREIRA is a versatile artist in Painting, Illustration Performance and Installation Art. After 20+ years in New York, Peter has recently relocated to Delray Beach. He studied at the University of Omaha and Art Studies in Europe and Africa in the 1980’s and 90’s. On his return he was accepted into several prestigious galleries for painting including Timothy Roberts Gallery and Gallerie D’Art Contemporain (to which his abstract work has returned). He has since continued to create across disciplines and notably evolved the Trees of Life Sculpture Multimedia Installation over the past 10 years in New York and toured internationally in recent years (with Figment Arts) bringing this unique Installation Series as far as Geelong, Australia. Based on paintings and drawings from his time in Africa and later Montreal, Peter created the Paradox Box Series of Wrap Sculpture and Painting Performance Series. He also composed an original album for the show, which later was performed off-Broadway. As an Illustrator, his Comic Book Narrative work appears in Strauss News.

The Old School Square center grounds will be transformed into an exciting outdoor gallery, welcoming art collectors and enthusiasts to meet the artists and discover something new.  The show will be limited to 100 artists with original works including paintings, ceramics, fiber art, glass, jewelry, mixed-media, metalwork, photography, woodwork and sculptures in a variety of media.

Old School Square

Old School Square is the center of arts & entertainment in downtown Delray Beach. Serving for over 25 years as the community’s gathering place, the historic campus includes the intimate Crest Theatre (in the restored 1925 Delray High School building) the Cornell Art Museum (in the 1913 Delray Elementary building), and the Fieldhouse (formerly known as the Vintage Gymnasium, c. 1925). The Pavilion, which opened in 2002, hosts outdoor concerts and festivals. The Creative Arts School (located on the second floor of the Crest Theatre) offers art, photography and writing classes. Old School Square also serves as a venue for community, corporate, private and media events.
