The Treasure Coast Arts & Mindfulness Fest is long overdue! Organized by St. Lucie Cultural Alliance in partnership with MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Event Center, “Art and mindfulness warm our hearts and lift our spirits as we journey through life,” says Executive Director Alyona Ushe. “Combining the mind-opening benefits of art with the healing benefits of mindfulness is a perfect marriage”.

 

The Treasure Coast Arts & Mindfulness Fest is designed to enhance the cultural community while the fundraiser will further empower the organization to showcase local and regional talent.  We encourage artists from all over the state and beyond to be part of this festival”, Alyona adds.

 

This is the Alliance’s major fundraising event for the year to raise funds for the nonprofit organization artists grants program. This fest will also promote the arts, local artists, and provide value, fun, and entertainment for the whole family.

 

There will be painters, potters, photographers and sculptors; artists who create works from recycled components as well as fashion designers. Live music, dance productions and spoken word performance pieces will take place on stage. A children’s corner featuring family activities and crafts will provide the opportunity to create hands-on art. Multiple food trucks will tempt visitors with aromatic healthy food choices.

Focusing on the mindfulness part of the Fest, alternative health vendors in categories including acupuncture, nutrition, massage and hypnotherapy will be on hand, as will yoga and Pilates studios, Reiki masters and Tai Chi practitioners. Visitors will find all-natural soaps, hand-made crystal jewelry and sound healing instruments. Take the opportunity to have a Tarot card reading or a chakra analysis.

While most art lovers are mindful, and in turn, many mindfulness practitioners surround themselves with beautiful art, the Treasure Coast Arts & Mindfulness Fest will inspire everyone to “jump over the fence” to find new ways of enjoying every day. “The arts and mindfulness offer a natural partnership between two powerful disciplines,” says Alyona. Linda McCarthy, Director of MIDFLORIDA Event Center agrees. “Arts and cultural activities inspire civic pride, connect generations, bridge diverse groups, and serve as a symbol of Port St. Lucie,” says McCarthy.

 

All funds received from sponsorships and vendor fees will go into the Cultural Alliance’s Grant Fund to be awarded to artists and cultural organizations, as will monies raised from the sale of auction items and raffles. According to Alyona, the Grant Fund already has accumulated $25,000: $10,000 from the city of Port St. Lucie which helped launch the program and $15,000 from St.Lucie County and from the Florida Arts License Plate program. All grant awards will be awarded only to local entities “so we can continue growing the local cultural landscape,” says Alyona.

 

Deena Rahill, a Certified Sound Healing Practitioner is the organizer of the mindfulness portion of the Fest. She will play a set of crystal bowls in a live performance while Lisa Jill Allison paints a canvas for a symbiotic art and sound experience. Sound can be used to unblock creativity and focus the mind. Deena describes a crystal bowl sound bath as a meditative acoustic sound concert. It is quite an experience to be immersed in vibrational sound, one that lulls the listener into a peaceful and mindful state of being.

 

 

For those who are unfamiliar with crystal bowls, each one is made from 99.8 percent pure quartz crystal and is tuned to a particular note of the musical scale. When played, the sound frequencies affect brainwave activity, slowing down brain waves to enter a deeply restorative state, where the body rebalances itself to self-heal.  “Creative mindfulness activities assist in the development of self-awareness and resilience,” says Deena. Both mindfulness and art creation are linked to a flow state, one that allows a person to think in different ways. “When we practice mindfulness, we’re practicing the art of creating space for ourselves – space to think, space to breathe, space between ourselves and our reactions,” she adds.  Deena believes that, “The Treasure Coast Arts & Mindfulness Fest offers the opportunity to explore different modalities and find local providers who can help people discover and embrace new ways of managing their life. Ultimately, community is immunity.”

Open to all artists and art students on the Treasure Coast.  Students in Junior High, High School and College are encouraged to participate with the supervision of an art teacher and/or parent.   

FLAMINGO SPECIFICATIONS: 

  1. Open to all artists working in all media.  Original work must be created on flamingos provided by the Fort Pierce Art Club, Inc.  (FPAC).  Other flamingos may be used with approval by the Show’s Curator.
  2. Works will be judged on craftsmanship and use of the flamingo as a lawn ornament/decoration.    
  3. There is no theme requirement for the flamingos.  
  4. This is a non-profit community project.  All flamingos will be for sale to the public and the proceeds will go toward the Fort Pierce Art Club’s Public Art Programs and the Student Scholarship Program.  
  5. No eroticism or graphic violence will be considered.  General patriotic themes are allowed but political party and/or campaign candidate promotion are strictly prohibited.

SUBMISSION CRITERIA:

Each artist will be asked to give a $5 deposit for the flamingo.  The $5 will be refunded to the artist when the completed Flamingo is returned.  Note:  Students working with a School Art Teacher(s) will be exempt from the deposit, but the teacher will be responsible for the return of the completed or uncompleted flamingo(s) they take.

AWARDS:

The Selection Committee is composed of professional members of the public and the Show Curator who will oversee the judging of the pierces.  The judges will evaluate the work and have the right to reject any piece that might be offensive to the public or of poor construction.  There will 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ribbons for each of two categories:  Students and Adults.  There will also be tons of bragging rights for all.

The proceeds from the flamingo sale will go towards FPAC Art Education Scholarships to be awarded on January 9, 2021 at the Club’s 65th Anniversary party.  The club’s party will be held outside under the oaks from 9:00 am to noon at Cool Beans Brew coffee house.  Scholarships applications for high school and college students to complete will be available at www.fortpierceartclub.org at the end of November 2020.  Winners will be posted on the club’s website above.

 

 

The Fort Pierce Art Club this year has raised $400 for the “Inner Truth Project” and $500 from the July “Filthy Mug” silent auction to aid the Fort Pierce Women’s Club, who provide food for families on Mondays and Fridays.  During March and April, the club distributed wooden birdhouses, paint, and brushes for families to embellish.  The “Bird House” art was then displayed at Cool Beans Brew Coffee House.  Currently, the club is sponsoring “Art on the Porch”, a free painting session including all supplies, every Monday morning at Cool Beans Brew Coffee House. In addition, several club members are painting bike racks for the city of Fort Pierce.

Art Synergy Extends Call For Local, Regional, National, International Artists To Apply To “BIBLIO 2020” And “UNLEASHED Art Fair”. Exhibits Take Place At Art Palm Beach.

Art Synergy has a lot going on this season with many exciting events.  See which one is the perfect fit for you!  This year Art Synergy will present Bibilo2020 at the Art Palm Beach Fair.  Here’s your chance to create something really different! Have fun!  Books can be created in all kinds of media… sculptures, video, painting, mixed media, animations… your mind is the limit. Take a step out of your comfort zone! Art Synergy is inviting national and international artists to apply to this call for artists.  This will be our 7th year at this unique event and we are proud to once again be a part of it. This is the first year that the call is open internationally.  VISION 2020, the theme for this year’s Unleashed Art Fair and Fundraiser, is built upon the foundation and mission of “Aspire to Inspire” and will be held at Industry Alley.  The event takes place on January 25, 2020, preceding Art Palm Beach, January 31 – February 03, 2020.  There will be music, vendors, art installations and a VIP dinner. “UNLEASHED   ART   FAIR”

 

Art Synergy’s Unleashed Art Fair is the organization’s most successful fundraising arts event of the year. The bi-annual event highlights the best of the local Palm Beach County arts and entertainment scene. Unleashed Art Fair is the brainchild of Rolando Chang Barrero and Ilene Gruber Adams of Art Synergy who wanted to spotlight the emergent artists and musicians of Palm Beach County which has fast become one South Florida’s leading world-class art and cultural destinations.  The venue has been generously donated by developer and visionary Hunter Beebe who also donated the Warehouse District for Unleashed in 2017.

John Cutrone is Director of the Jaffe Center for Book Arts at Florida Atlantic University Libraries, as well as a partner in Lake Worth’s Convivio Bookworks, a book arts studio specializing in limited edition letterpress printed books and broadsides. He is the author of the Convivio Book of Days blog, which explores the quirkier side of seasonal traditions, encouraging us to live the ceremony of each day.

Art Synergy:

A non-profit organization, was fortunate to have caught the eye of the Lesters and through their auspices, the organization has received a booth at the Art Palm Beach for the past 5 years, with 2019 being the sixth Art Synergy Exhibition once again looking forward to a great exhibition.

Art Synergy has grown considerably since its inception and our volunteer staff and support has grown along with it.  The organization, run by Rolando Chang Barrero and Ilene Gruber Adams, artists and advocates, holds several meetings yearly, open to the public, where we request help from the community to work with us in everything from planning, to finance hanging the shows.  We look forward to another successful year and cannot thank the Lesters enough for the support they have shown us.

Art Synergy is the unique countywide movement of artists, business, and civic leaders committed to unifying and promoting the diverse culture of Palm Beach County’s and South Florida’s vibrant arts community. Our goal is to broaden the education and culture of our children through the arts via joint parent/child experiences.

The TikiMarket at the Marina in Riviera Beach, FL is starting season in a BIG WAY on Sunday, October 20!  TikiMarket has partnered with local organizations and will benefit the hurricane victims through a collection of needed relief items and a raffle. Artists will exhibit and sell their creations. 4th Annual West Palm Beach Arts Festival Call To Artists For December 7 – 8th Outdoor Celebration Of Arts

Artists are invited to participate in the 4th Annual West Palm Beach Arts Festival presented by the Armory Art Center on December 7 -8, 2019. The Festival features local and out-of-town artists, live music, demonstrations, food trucks, and activities for all ages. The call to artists is seeking local, regional, and national artists working in ceramics, drawing, fiber, furniture, glass, jewelry, photography, printmaking, sculpture, mixed-media, and painting. Last year’s festival brought 6,000 festival visitors. This event is well publicized by local media reporting, media sponsorships, advertising, and social media. Last year’s festival brought 6,000 festival visitors.

 

This event is well publicized by local media reporting, media sponsorships, advertising, and social media. Scheduled at the perfect time for holiday shopping, vendors will reach affluent Palm Beach and Broward County residents, and engage our large seasonal tourist population.

 

 

The campus hosts space for 95 10’x10’ tents throughout the Armory’s campus. Tents will be located outdoors in the campus sculpture garden and parking lot.  The Armory Art Center is on the south end of Howard Park within walking distance of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts, the Palm Beach Convention Center, Hilton West Palm Beach, and Rosemary Square—a premier shopping, dining, and entertainment destination.

 

 

Artists will have the opportunity to interact with the public through art demos and booth chats. Live music, food, and activities for kids make the festival a perfect experience for all.

 

 

Set up is on Friday, December 6, 2019. Artists parking will be available.

 

 

To participate, go to armoryart.org/wpbaf-2019 to access the application on Zapplications.

  • Submit three jpegs of the artwork you plan to sell and a picture of your booth display along with your application.

  • Application deadline is August 23, 2019.

  • There is a $35 artist application fee

  • Booths are 10’x10’ for $200 each.

 

 

Tent Requirements: Tents must be 10’x10’ and made to withstand wind and rain. The tent color must be white to remain consistent with event standards. Recommended brands are Light Done, Show Off, and Flourish. There is a minimum of 50 lbs. of weight per corner required to meet quality standards.

TikiMarket Offers Free Jazz And Art Show On Sunday, April 28. Family Friendly, Free Admission And Parking

The TikiMarket at the Marina in Riviera Beach invites visual artists and jazz lovers to enjoy “Art & Jazz Sunday” on April 28.  Artists will be selling their creations at the open-air market, which is family friendly. Applications for future events are available.
