Quilting in the United States spans generations and has grown to a $3 Billion-dollar industry encompassing a variety of styles, techniques and methods. Quilts are as varied as the diverse community that create them.

Over these seven days, thousands of viewers will join us to celebrate the uniquely American art form of quilting.  Whether you want to look at beautiful examples of traditional, modern, or art quilts, if you’d like to buy a quilt, learn how to quilt, attend a lecture, or shop for supplies, BQE has it all!

And BQE is not just for quilters!  In 2019 we will also be welcoming the entire community with many new activities,  NOT confirmed at press time – please check website for latest updates!

  • Children’s activities
  • Art Challenge for non-quilters!
  • Lounge and relaxation station.
  • Food trucks.
  • Community events before quilt week.
  • Family-friendly tickets.
  • Much more to be announced!

Vendors will have yards upon yards of fabulous fabric, sewing notions and patterns. Woven wearable’s,art cloths, Japanese threads and much more. New this year is a vendor demonstration area with various quilting and sewing techniques, how to use various tools on the market and much more. All six guilds will be hosting a “Guildtique” with hand made items for sale, basket walk and charity quilt raffles.

To make it a family event, Food Trucks will be on hand, so you can take a lunch break and then continue to view the wonderful quilts and shop the vendor floor. New this year is the addition of quilt sales. You can now purchase the quilts on display.

BQE is the work of the East Sunrise Quilt Guild, Southern Stars Quilt Guild, Coral Springs Quilters, West Broward Quilters, South Florida Modern Quilt Guild and Quilting in the Pines Guild. All or our funding comes from public support, membership dues, grants and funds from previous events. We are an all-volunteer organization who are crazy about quilts.

Follow the story of how the warmth and fragrance of coffee, a drink most of us take for granted, brings a family together through many generations.  At the heart of this book is Naliyah, a youngster battling a childhood syndrome.  While coffee exudes energy and zest, Naliyah’s  personality brings those same qualities to everyone who meets her.
