Miriam, the keeper of the well, the voice of the women, along with her brothers Aaron and Moses, leads the journey. Explores family relationships of mothers raising strong women, father’s influence, meaningful love relationships, offspring and generational heritage. Overview Of NEW Dates For Gallery Exhibits And Calls For Artists Due To Circumstances Beyond Our Control-Hurricane Irma

Pardon the inconvenience (Irma), as The Rickie Report shares NEW dates of Exhibits, Gallery presentations and Calls for art.  Many artists have experienced losses of supplies, studios, and artwork due to Irma.  As these artists’ basic needs are being taken care of by other agencies, we would like to suggest other ways to help:  Support the local art scene by showing up for events, by talking to the artists, and by purchasing their art.

Bea Doone-Merena tells The Rickie Report, “My greatest pleasure in life is creating art! From that time in grade school painting murals and attending art classes, I knew my greatest pleasure in life would be art. Other loves presented themselves; marriage, children, grandchildren and friends. Surrounded by their support I finally got the time to return to my first love of art”.

She goes on to say, “The years had passed so I wondered how I could ever catch up. I found a way. I let the Great Masters of art’s history teach me their craft. In reproducing the finest art of the Masters, I’ve found the best teachers who ever lived!”

“Vanity” by Bea Doone-Merena

Bea tells us, “Now, I feel I have materialized the creation of the Renaissance Era in my artwork. The techniques and canvas preparations, the under paintings, rich colorful palettes, and glazes, everything needed to master a Renaissance painting. I delight the most in flesh tones for it is in these tones that the whole paint palette is used”.

Oil is her favorite medium, which “flows over the canvas with a richness not found in other mediums. I apply all these wonderful lessons to bring to life the human body, nature and commissioned portraits”.

“She Paints With Unwavering Passion and Boldness”

By Renée Phillips, of Manhattan Arts International

“Bea Doone-Merena is an outstanding artist who has received many accolades as a realistic painter of portraits and figures. She has been creating art all her life, from the time she was selected to paint murals in grade school”.

Beadoonemerenaodalisque

“Odalisque” by Bea Doone-Merena

“Bea has mastered the laborious and challenging Renaissance oil painting techniques. She enjoys all steps of the process — from preparing the canvas and the systematic underpainting, to sing chiaroscuro modeling effects to give the illusion of depth, and the rich color palette and glazes  — that are required to produce her museum quality paintings”.

“Mystic White” by Bea Doone-Merena

After accomplishing the Renaissance techniques as a foundation, Bea has expanded into numerous art forms. New works seem to emerge monthly. This summer her art was an explosion of accents of single color applied strategically to human body parts. They rivet the viewer to experience color shock like a contemporary painting might do. All original creations and unique framing make these one-of-a-kind pieces an investment for your growing art collection.
