Kimberly Perry is the owner and curator of Posh Design Studio in Delray Beach, Florida, where she represents over 30 local, national and international artists.  Posh is a thriving art gallery that services all types of homes, businesses and interior designers. Her gallery consists of original paintings, sculptures, glass art, fine art photography, home décor and unique gifts.  She has an extensive VIP List of celebrity art collectors across the country.

Kimberly is also an Abstract Artist and a Professional Color Consultant. She specializes in the psychological and physiological effects of color on human beings. She creates colorful solutions for architectural and interior design projects. Kimberly is the daughter of world-renowned artist, DeVon Cunningham, who is featured in the Smithsonian Institute.  Her obsession with art began at the age of five, when she attended her dad’s first art exhibition. She has spent a lifetime attending art shows, festivals and art galleries across the country with her dad. 

 

 

Kimberly holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Arts and Science from Michigan State University. She is constantly researching and developing her skills as an art consultant and curator for her gallery. In honor of its 40^th anniversary, the Wellington Art Society is pleased to announce the first virtual art show of the season, “CELEBRATION”, a juried virtual art show showing now through December 31, 2021. This exhibit features ten artists and 35 original works of art by WAS members, including mixed media art on canvas, black and white photography, sculptures and an array of paintings, using various mediums.

Award winning artist Jane Tracy was a creative force her entire life. She earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Central Michigan University and went on to teach art in Montpelier, Vermont. In 1968 she married Peter Tracy and continued her life’s journey as an artist. Her experiences were diverse. She worked in advertising and as a studio potter Jane created functional stoneware that was sold throughout the eastern United States. In 1972 she became a potter-in-residence at the Guilford Art Center in Guilford, Connecticut.

 

 

 

The dynamic and vibrant artist opened Curious Jane’s Restaurant in 1977 with great success through 1981. She even designed the couple’s home in Branford, Connecticut, which was featured in a variety of publications. She launched her career as a painter in 1985; her passion for color, texture and movement apparent in each of the hundreds of abstract paintings she ultimately created. Jane Tracy’s Artist Statement:

Making art is always a challenge. The sensory involvement and visceral stimulation needed, requires a commitment – a commitment to struggle through the process – enjoying the moments of success and triumphing over the ever-present grind of making compositional selections of color, line, value or shape.

 

Non-paintings compel me to surrender to my intuition and to trust my inner-urge to experiment. The process of continually making choices and decisions– what to add, what to keep, what to eliminate, what to repeat and ultimately, when to stop–is both daunting and exhilarating.

 

The thrill of a uniquely textured surface, the contrasting interplay of warm and cool colors, the surprise of unplanned subtleties are some of the factors in my highly personal, solitary painting experiences that inspire me each time I begin a new painting. The knowledge that there will always be another blank surface for me to paint serves as my ultimate inspiration.

The first plein air paint-out and critique is scheduled for Friday, January 31, 2020. Painters will work from 9:00 am to noon with a luncheon and critique to follow.

 

 

 

On Saturday, February 1, the public can wander around the streets of Delray any time between 9:00 am and 2:00 pm to see more than 50 artists capturing the hidden gem that is Delray Beach. Our artists love to have an audience and will be happy to share what they are doing with you. 

 

 

The paintings from Plein Fun Fest 2020 will be featured in a silent auction beginning on Friday night January 31 at 6:30 pm and all-day Saturday until 4:00 pm at Old School Square in Delray Beach. Last year Plein Fun Fest raised over $5,000 at the silent auction and more than $8,000 for the week. 

 

 

The Plein Fun Fest competition is sponsored jointly by Plein Air Palm Beach (PAPB) and Old School Square. “The aim of Plein Fun Fest is to be a regional art event to support artists of South Florida. We want to have something that reflects our group and we want to be local. We are not interested in competing with the national plein air competition events,” says publicity chair, Donna Walsh.

Plein Fun Fest

 

On Saturday, February 2, 2019, the 50-juried artists will compete in Plein Fun Fest. The artists will begin painting at 9:00 am at location of their choice anywhere within the boundaries Delray Beach. This is the public’s chance to walk around, see what’s happening, talk to the artists and experience one of the best Delray Beach events.  At 4:30 pm, Marusca Gatto, Manager of the Cornell Museum at Old School Square, will jury the show, selecting those artists who will win. The awards total more than $2,000.00 cash from Plein Air Palm Beach plus prizes from local businesses.   Art sale and reception  5:30 – 7:30 pm. Silent Auction begins 6 pm.

 

Paint The Beach!

 

On Sunday, February 3, 2019, artists will line the sands of Delray Beach to Paint the Beach for just for FUN. This event is open to anyone. Plein air painting is exciting and invites viewers into the creative process: the sights, sounds, and even smells of the artists’ world.

 

A juried group of 50 plein air painters from Florida and beyond will capture the ambiance and charm of Delray Beach at Plein Fun Fest, an outdoor painting extravaganza on February 2, 2019. A prolific artist for 50 years, Fern Samuels received her Master of Fine Arts degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Fern was one of the founders of A.R.C gallery in Chicago, one of the first women’s cooperative art galleries in the U.S.  Fern created in a number of different media, including collage, printmaking and painting.

She was an Associate Professor of Art at Columbia College, Chicago. Fern was also a member of the National Association of Women Artists and FLAG Florida Artists Group. She had numerous exhibits in national museums and galleries throughout the U.S. Fern Samuels taught in the university system in the Chicago area before moving to Florida where she promptly became engaged in our local arts community.

Fern was a member of FLAG (Florida Artist Guild) and the NAWA,FL (National Association of Women Artists, Florida Chapter). A prolific artist, she was always willing to take chances and experiment with media as well as subject matter.

Her family, her students, her fellow creatives, and her friends all speak highly of Fern’s enthusiasm for life. The large body of work she left behind is testament to a passionate combination of curiosity and talent.
