I love art and I have always enjoyed making art. After trying many different mediums, I always return to fiber and textile art.  As a seamstress and a designer, textiles have always intrigued me; especially if the fiber has a beautiful texture that makes you want to reach out and touch it! I love layering color and combining different tactile fibers.

What I love about fiber art is the surprise element – the mixture of the fabric, the dye and the resist create different combinations and patterns that are only revealed at the final step. The magic when the freshly dyed indigo comes out of the vat and turns from green to blue right before your eyes!  It is always a surprise when I unwrap a freshly dyed piece of fabric! Like opening a Christmas Gift! Another thing I love about fiber is that there are no “mistakes”!  It is just like life; everything is always subject to change, and the mistakes lead to growth in my art.  The imperfections are all part of the creative process. I typically use African Adinka symbols as inspirations in my batik prints and create my own stamps.  I am always learning new techniques and experimenting with them. Every piece created is a unique one of a kind original!

Thick paint is a collection of work created by award winning artist Sarah LaPierre. Palette knives and heavy bodied acrylic paints provide the full textures and vibrant colors that are characteristics of her style. Sarah gains her inspiration from the beautiful sceneries throughout her home state of Florida, with special focus skyward. Her late father, artist Joseph LaPierre remains the strongest influence in her creative ventures.

Anthony Gargiulo has been making sculptures for many years, mostly birds of Florida. His sculptures include egrets, herons, sandhill cranes, shore birds and many others.  They are made for outdoor display using composite materials,  wood or metal. Special requests for positions or size are welcomed.  Mock-ups are made for customer approval before the finished sculpture is made.

Blue Flame Candles are handmade with meticulous attention to every detail. We use a soy-blend wax, cotton wicks and no added dye. What sets Blue Flame apart from other candles is exceptional fragrance. Being true luxury candles, they have amazing fragrance throw and a slow, beautiful, complete burn.  Being a connoisseur of richly fragrant luxury candles and getting tired of paying exorbitant prices for them, I set out to learn how to create them. It took a great amount of work, many months of research, and hours of daily testing before my benchmark of product excellence was achieved.

In October 2009 Blue Flame Candles was born. Today, Blue Flame is a true family run company. My daughter Madylyn does the pouring, while I do the labeling and all other tasks related to running Blue Flame.  We continue to test new waxes and oils to maintain the standard of superior quality that Blue Flame clients appreciate and expect.  I exhibit at art & craft shows throughout Florida from Oct. thru May. During the hot summer months, I’ll be in Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin.
