Want To Share Your Artwork?

Would you like to display your artwork at The Brewhouse Gallery? We offer excellent terms. No commission for a 3-month run, and unlike traditional artist co-ops, you are not required to put in volunteer time running the gallery. For more information, send us an email: art@brewhousegallery.com.

Visionary owner, AJ Brockman tells The Rickie Report, “What is the number one drawback to a traditional artist co-op or gallery? Very little foot traffic which ultimately leads to very little sales. With this model there is a constant draw of foot traffic and nightly events to get people in the door, seeing your work on the walls. Not to mention, people are much more inclined to make impulse buys after loosening up with a glass of wine or a beer. By no means is this a bar in the traditional sense… It is more of a public house, creative space, think tank, hang out”.

How is Brewhouse Gallery different from a traditional gallery or co-op?

  • Huge foot traffic draw with nightly events including open mic night, singer-songwriter acoustic jam sessions, painting classes, creative/inspirational speakers, live music, trivia night, etc.

  • One major event per rotation, essentially an artist opening, that is heavily promoted and features all of our resident artists and their work.

  • No need to volunteer your time, we handle everything. With a traditional co-op you are required to commit a certain amount of volunteer time to run the gallery. We handle everything and simply call you if you have made a sale or someone is interested in negotiating.

  • All work will be prescreened and approved. This keeps the subject matter to a high standard and competition from fellow artists to a minimum in order to reinforce the quality of work that you are being represented with.

  • Want to update your space with a new piece? No problem. You are free to come in and swap out any of your work at any time… as well as inviting others to see your work at our location and scheduling special events of your own.

  • NO COMMISSION! (Minus a small processing fee of 4.9% on credit cards). That’s right, we are one of the only galleries that gives our artists 100% of all sales.

We have two sizes available:

Either our half space (approximately 40 ft.² of displayable wall space) for $150 per month ($450 + sales tax), or our standard space (approximately 64 ft.² of displayable wall space) for $200 per month ($600 + sales tax).

Both of these require a three month commitment and the rental fee to be paid in full (all three months) upon installation of your work. As of right now we are only offering a three month contract as it is part of our model to always bring in new work and highlight as many artists as possible. That being said we give all of our artists the opportunity to re–apply and be placed right back in our queue to exhibit again.

Please reply with what size space you may be interested in and any other questions or concerns you may have.

Support “Kelsey Cares” In Fostering The Arts As “The 4 Year Anniversary Block Party” In Lake Park Kicks Off

When AJ Brockman opened the Brewhouse Gallery, in 2014, it was easy to understand his concept – show original artwork from local artists and serve beer. But is was SO much more than that!  This visionary saw it as a “brew house for ideas” as well as craft beers and artwork…a common gathering place for an entire community!  As we head into the fourth phase of our grassroots effort, “The Back Alley Mural Project”, we ask our friends, family and business cohorts to help make it a success.  The Rickie Report shares the details of the next phase and the continuing efforts of AJ and his not-for-profit, Kelsey Cares.  We look to fellow visual artists, performing artists, and their audiences to get involved! The Rickie Report is proud to be part of this effort!

(DETAILS  TO FOLLOW)

This video link will tell you more about the whole story and the continuing efforts of AJ and his not-for-profit, Kelsey Cares:

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/leaving-our-mark-in-lake-park-a-mural-project-4-community#/

Revitalizing a community through a huge ( 900 foot) outdoor mural (one of the largest continuous murals in South Florida!) and launching The Lake Park Arts District!

OUR MISSION

“Funding art, theater, music, film, and cultural development through community outreach by providing subsidies for productions, events, artists and musicians to carry out their mission.”

Introducing Kelsey Cares. After multiple community projects to revitalize the Town of Lake Park through the arts, specifically our renowned mural projects, we are now furthering our efforts through receiving our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status. Founded in 1919, the original Kelsey City (now Lake Park) was a cultural hub and we are continuing Harry Kelsey’s vision by cultivating The Lake Park Arts District. Kelsey Cares is Funding art, theater, music, film, and cultural development through community outreach by providing subsidies for productions, events, artists and musicians to carry out their mission.

The Back Alley Mural Project

Thanks to the local community the launch of The Kelsey Theater has been a growing success, and even given birth to what we now call The Lake Park Arts District. That left us wondering, “What else can we do to make Lake Park great?” The answer is to utilize the only real estate we have left in a project that benefits local artists and the community alike.

What We Need & What You Get

So, we need to fill this wall with eye-popping color that will make The Lake Park Arts District visible from outer space! Okay, maybe that’s a bit unrealistic, but we still want to beautify this town with public art. The extent to which the wall gets painted depends on how much money we raise.

100% of all the funds raised will be going towards supplies, rental equipment, permitting and actually paying these artists because artwork is WORK. Once we reach our initial goal any additional money raised will be put into escrow and applied to the next round of muralists until we are able to paint the entire 700 building (pretty much a city block) every six months. After that, we start again right back at the beginning so there is always fresh imagery to inspire our community.

Now to the good part… What you get in return for your support! We have a bunch of great perks at all different contribution levels, the majority of which center around “The 4yr Anniversary Block Party” scheduled for May 12, 2018. This will serve as our official wrap party and unveiling of the finished mural. Food trucks, vendors, craft beer, live music, art demonstrations, and much more will be going down as we put the finishing touches on this masterpiece the day of. Not a local? No problem, many of our perks are easily shipped so you can help support this project from anywhere in the world. At the very least, come party with us at this free event and see what’s happening at The Lake Park Arts District for yourself!

AJ Brockman shares a message with The Rickie Report readers, “Have you been to The Brewhouse Gallery yet? After this weekend, chances are that is a yes… After over two years of being in business we just had our most successful week EVER (excluding anniversary weekends). Why is that? Because of all of you! That’s right, it’s because of all the incredible support and word-of-mouth recommendations that we are thriving in the dead of summer… We are a spot created by locals for locals and we reinvest in our community. If for whatever reason you have been living under a rock, or need an excuse to finally come visit us… Now’s your chance.  Tuesdays we’re open from 5- 10 PM with Happy Hour Pricing all night long!  See you here”!!
