Art Fest on the Green showcases extraordinary original works across many mediums by 65 artists from around the country. Awards for Excellence, totaling $2000. are presented to Artists for Best in Show, 1st,2nd,3rd, and Honorable Mentions.

The Wellington Art Society presents its 13th Annual Art Fest on the Green at the Wellington Amphitheater on Saturday, January 26 and Sunday, January 27.  The Free event brings 55 fine artists together, selling original artwork across multiple mediums including painting, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, textiles, and photography. On Saturday, January 26th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, January 27th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, the Wellington Art Society presents Art Fest on the Green, a celebration of creativity and artistic excellence bringing art and community together in a beautiful outdoor setting.  The juried fine art and fine craft show will feature artists from around the country showing original artwork across multiple mediums, including painting, sculpture, pottery, jewelry, textiles, photography and more. Many artists will be working on site.

The 55 fine artists participating in the festival were selected for their creativity, mastery of technique, and level of excellence. Awards for Excellence will be presented to Artists for Best in Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place and Honorable Mentions.

Art Fest on the Green gives visitors an opportunity to interact with the artists, learn more about their creative process, different mediums and techniques, and hear about the artists inspiration and accomplishments. Face to face contact with the artists in a beautiful setting adds to the wonderful lifetime experience of owning artwork and creates an extra dimension to the artwork.

 

Children of all ages will have fun creating their own original work of art to take home at the “Young at Art” Children’s Art Activity Area.  Live acoustic music will be performed by popular Professional local and regional musicians during Show hours. Food Trucks will be on site offering a variety of delicious food.

Manny Jomok, a plein air watercolorist, will present his recent captivating Palm Beach landscapes painted on site at popular area locations: Society of the Four Arts, Old Key Lime house, Grassy Waters Preserve, Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, Loxahatchee Panorama, Mounts Botanical Gardens.  Many of Manny’s paintings are done with other artists as part of meet-ups. Manny teaches watercolor and exhibits in FL and Maine.

Tim Gaydos, top award-winning artist in several mediums, will present his recent paintings of reflections in Nature.  “In recent years I have been moving more and more toward abstracting the landscape by eliminating detail, simplifying shapes, exaggerating colors with the intent of creating stronger composition.”  Tim is a master pastelist of the Pastel Society of America since 1987. He has received over 200 awards, most notably the American Watercolor Society Gold Medal of Honor. He has had many solo exhibitions and his work is in the Public Collections at Rutgers University, Butler Institute of American Art, Metropolitan Opera, L.L. WAS Art Fest Application Deadline has been extended to Nov. 1,2017.  The Rickie Report has seen numerous emerging artists get their starts at this event, as well as professional artists and artisans using this event to showcase their ongoing creative forces.  The Wellington Art Society offers this opportunity to the art-loving public to meet and interact with these artists.  Mark your calendars now! The 12th Annual Art Fest on the Green Fine Art and Fine Craft Show produced by the Wellington Art Society will take place on Saturday, January 27th – Sunday January 28th, 2018!

Art Fest on the Green features local, regional, and national fine art and fine craft artists, live music, artist demonstrations, Children’s Art Activity Tent, food trucks, and activities for all ages in a beautiful setting on the green of the Amphitheater. Located in Palm Beach County, Florida, Wellington is home to the Winter Equestrian Festival, International Polo Capital of the world, and a unique destination for seasonal visitors and residents.

 

 

January is the peak season and international visitors, tourists, and residents of Palm Beach, Martin, and Broward counties fill the event venues in Wellington and return yearly to Art Fest on the Green. Wellington offers many exciting dining choices, upscale shopping, and entertainment with a distinctive flair. It is just a short drive to the beach and many outstanding art and cultural attractions.

 

 

 

Visitors will have the opportunity to interact with the artists during art demos and booth chats. Pardon the inconvenience (Irma), as The Rickie Report shares NEW dates of Exhibits, Gallery presentations and Calls for art.  Many artists have experienced losses of supplies, studios, and artwork due to Irma.  As these artists’ basic needs are being taken care of by other agencies, we would like to suggest other ways to help:  Support the local art scene by showing up for events, by talking to the artists, and by purchasing their art.
