Ana Tamayo with “Carousel 1”

In her paintings and sculptures that flow from her identity as a Colombian, Ana continuously tries to question herself about nature conservation. She studies the forms of nature, its movements, and the connection to the ecosystem that nourishes itself. The colors in her paintings transform into shapes that flow like dynamic curves and undulating lines with the effort to represent her interpretation of nature in constant movement.

Ana’s inspiration also comes from scientists like Humboldt and Ernst Haeckel. She offers an infinite tropical representational universe full of sensations, some figurative, others conceptual.

“Carousel 2” by Ana Tamayo

“Nature is a window to a tropical universe, full of sensations, some figurative others conceptual. Within this process, design and composition play a paramount function that emerges spontaneously.” Ana Tamayo

Ana tells The Rickie Report, “I study emotional well-being through cathartic experiences and meditation. The connections between subjects that represent fauna and flora, for me are trips to femininity. I use different materials and techniques that give me the possibility to visualize recurrent themes such as water, birds, leaves, plants, flowers, especially orchids as Colombian symbols and of awareness”.

“Carousel 3” by Ana Tamayo

Her works are an extension of her being (mind, body, spirit) as a consequence of a disciplined creative process, curiosity of spirit, and dedication to research, which have proven to be definitive in her work as a visual artist.

Floral by Ana Tamayo

Ana has works in private collections in the United States, in foreign countries, and in public spaces. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including at different art fairs including Liberty Equities exhibitions at the International Plaza Buildings, Boca Raton Museum of Art, The Art School, Women in the Visual Arts (WITVA), the Gaudí Gallery in Madrid, a Pop Up Art Exhibition on Seranno Street in Madrid, the Lyon Art Fair in France, and the Art Fair in Lucca Italy.  She has a body of work in the law offices of Nelson Mullins inside the Lynn Financial Center in Boca Raton, FL.  Ana lives and works in Miami and donates  a percentage of her sales to the Imagina Children’s Foundation in Léon de Guanajuato, MX.
