Help bring joy and smiles to children facing adversity by being part of Arts For Smiles‘ Inaugural “Joy of Art” Exhibition! Showcase what brings you joy in times of adversity by applying to this exciting venture.  This juried art event is open to all artists eager to share their 2D and 3D artworks.  The Deadline to apply is September 10, 2023.  The exhibit takes place at The Peach Gallery November 11 & 12. ARTS  FOR  SMILES

 

 

 

Arts for Smiles is a non-profit organization run by a team of artists in Wellington, FL. Our mission is to bring joy to children facing adversity, through the arts. “The Joy of Art” exhibition will showcase artists’ creations which express how art brings joy to your life, how it helps you through times of adversity, or what it means for the promotion of positive mental health.

The jurying process will include Arts for Smiles Board members. In addition to selected artists, The Joy Of Art exhibit will include artworks created by the children supported by our programs.  All entry fees go directly to Arts for Smiles, a designated 501(c)3 charitable organization.

 

 

Timeline:

 

 

September 10th: Applications Due

October 10th: Artist Notification

November 10th: Artwork Drop Off (in person) 10am-12pm

November 11th: Exhibit Opening 11am – 9pm

November 11th: Reception and Awards 6pm – 9pm

November 12th: Exhibit Open 11am – 3pm

November 12th: Artwork Pickup 3pm – 5pm

 

 

 

Details:

 

  • Must be original artwork.  If selected, the artist will have the option to sell prints at the reception. 
  • 2D and 3D Artwork in all mediums and all styles are acceptable but must be able to be hung. 
  • Artwork must not exceed 16×20.
  • Artwork subject matter must be aligned with the theme of the show and appropriate for audience. 
  • Images of explicit or sexual content or violence will not be accepted.  
  • Artwork must be for sale.
  • Artwork must be securely wired, framed or painted/finished edges and properly prepared for display.
  • Selected artists must provide bio/artist statement.
  • Selected artists must sign artist’s agreement prior to artwork drop off date.

 

 

Awards: 

People’s Choice Award during the reception – $100 First Place $50 Second Place.

 

Sales:

 

 

Selected artists will have the option to sell prints during the exhibit. Arts for Smiles will track all sales throughout the duration of the exhibition, including original artwork and artist prints Arts for Smiles will retain 20% commission of ALL sales during the exhibition, please factor this into your pricing.

Pub At The Hub In Delray Beach Opens Call To Artists And Invites Public To “Come To Your Senses” January 21, 2023 With A Curated Art Sale, Food From South Florida’s Top Chefs, Spirits, And Music

The Pub at the Hub at Space of Mind, a creative community center located in Delray Beach is Calling For Artists in South Florida (Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward, Dade Counties) to “Come To Your Senses”.  Submissions are due January 3, 2023. No fee to enter! This curated art show & sale includes food from South Florida’s top chefs, spirits and music and is open to ages 21 and up at the Opening Reception on Saturday, January 21, 2023. This annual event celebrates creativity as the secret ingredient for learning – and living. Tapping the five senses, the evening’s artistic energy will radiate that elusive sixth sense, the intuition to find and follow what’s good for us & what inspires us to create a life worth craving. The Hub at Space of Mind, a creative community center, will wow you with culinary tastings from South Florida’s top chefs and farms, art curated from professional and student artists by The Peach, music from South Florida’s Latin-Reggae-Funky Xperimento and spirits from selected vendors. This party will raise your spirit and the funds to finish the Community Classroom Kitchen, a culinary school and workforce training program.

Fee: Free, this is an open call to all artists. Please submit your work no later than January 3, 2023.

Commission: 60/40 split. Artists will receive 60% of the net proceeds of the sale, and the coordinators will receive 40% of the net proceeds of any sale of artwork

Prize: Artists participating in Pub at The Hub will be eligible to win a People’s Choice award based on the votes of the guests.

Artwork Eligibility

  • Paintings, drawings, photography, sculptures, installations, mixed media (hand created), jewelry are eligible. 
  • NO DIGITAL ART OF ANY KIND (with exception of photography). Digital reproductions, giclées or prints will not be eligible for the exhibition. 
  • 2D artists can submit a MAXIMUM of THREE different images.
  • 3D artists can submit a MAXIMUM OF THREE CONCEPTS. However, you can show different angles of the same subject.
  • Maximum dimensions for 2D work is 4’x4’ (48”x48”) NO LARGER
  • Maximum dimensions for 3D work is Open. Will be determined by the jurors. Artists will be responsible for placement on the floor. 
  • Original work only created by the artist submitting. If work is created as a collaboration with another artist who did not submit to the call, the collaborating artist must submit a letter of approval.
  • Jewelry will only be accepted if the artist is providing his or her own unique way to display.
  • If the artist exhibited with Pub at The Hub in 2020, please do not re-submit the same work. Any previous work submitted will be disqualified.

 

Pricing:

  • All artworks must be for sale and must have a minimum price of $1500, unless it is a series meant to be sold together but can be sold separately. (E.g.: A quadtych series for $375 each or $1500 for the series.) Maximum price cap is $15,000 with the exception of series or installations that can be sold separately. (E.g: Installation valued at $15,000 but each piece sold separately is $1500 each.)
  • Jewelry must have a minimum price of $500, unless it is a series meant to be sold together, but can be sold separately. You will be responsible for your own displays. 

After Acceptance:

  • If the submitted artwork becomes unavailable, the artist must contact the coordinators immediately.
  • Artist agrees to provide quality and tasteful work that best represents the format of Pub at The Hub . All art must be ready to hang or install. The committee can reject any work if not presentation ready. Must be framed, have hanging devices, be gallery wrapped and edges treated and painted. No cracks, sloppy edges, or incomplete work will be accepted. Any work not presentation ready will be rejected. It is recommended that acrylic and not glass is used in the framing. Artwork must be labeled on the back with the artist’s name, title, medium & gallery price. 
  • Pub at The Hub will not be providing pedestals. The artist provided pedestal for the display must be white and in pristine condition.
