Stanford Slutsky’s gallery includes healthy fruit snacks as well as childhood favorites!
Stanford Slutsky has lived in Florida the past 38 years and is a full time working artist. Walking into the home/gallery/studio of Stanford Slutsky is like walking into Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Even better, the giant sized hyper-realistic art on the walls looks good enough to eat and are calorie free! What looks like luscious chocolates are actually made of resins, rigid foam, adhesives, acrylics, a lot of imagination and some proprietary techniques that this creative has devised himself.
Stanford Slutsky’s Candy Dots on Paper
At 79 years young, Stanford has tapped into his creative side most of his life. Even in high school, he was winning awards for his artwork. At that time, it was for jewelry making. Later, he moved into painstakingly working on abstract geometric optical illusion art, hand painting every minuscule perfectly measured line and angle to create unique and eye-tricking perspectives.
Stanford Slutsky’s dish of candied apples
Slutsky decided to switch it up and revert to when he drove a Good Humor Ice Cream Truck in the summer of 1957 and being in the grocery business. It was a throwback to good feelings, the memories of childhood. He wanted to create art that made someone smile and have that sense of nostalgia.
Stanford Slutsky offers a wide variety of food art
He accomplished this with his art that looked like chocolate bars, chocolate candies, ice cream bars, doughnuts, pizza, hamburgers, French fries, sushi and more. His latest piece is called “My Favorite Licorice.” He creates these artworks in his studio, which happens to be in his perfectly organized garage that is where the magic happens.

Slutsky, was nominated to the Florida Arts Hall of Fame in 1993. His “Assorted Box of Candy” won an award at The Armory of West Palm Beach and Art in Public Places at the Palm Beach International Airport, to mention a few.
