Spending time with eclectic artist Maria Miele feels like a true moment of refreshment! Maria tells The Rickie Report, “My Paintings capture and interpret natural environments in an expression of color and minimal composition. My work is constantly evolving which is evident in the variety of subject matter and painting styles throughout the years. My subjects are often inspired by life, pop culture, bold composition and interpretive abstracts. What stays consistent is my passion for color and bold, minimal composition as evidenced in my photography”.

“S E L F I E S”     COMMISSIONS  ACCEPTED

“Selfies” by Maria Miele capture the essence of each person she paints

Maria has chosen NOT to put herself in an artistic “box”, being typecast for a certain style or medium. The result is that one can see her creativity as it flows through her veins.  A rooster with a contemporary sparkle easily lives next to a serene and reflective piece on her easel.

“FINE       ART     ORIGINALS”

Maria works closely with interior designers, decorators, and home owners to bring each space to life.

“Date Night Revisited” by Maria Miele

“Seeing Maria’s art in person is refreshing, breathtaking, and exciting all in one glance!”, shares a visitor to her studio.

Maria’s joie de vivre comes through in all of her creations. Each element in Maria’s journey has strengthened her to be the best “Maria” she can be!  While Maria doesn’t step away from the reality of the world, staying focused on the present is important to her…and that is what her artwork does for each viewer.

“Studio Reflections” by Maria Miele

Maria taught studio art and photography to students from elementary age through college and is an adjunct professor at Indian River State College. While Maria may have retired from teaching, she never retired from creating her own artwork. As she says with great enthusiasm, “I’m finally getting back to what I am meant to be doing!’

“Surrender to the Night” by Maria Miele

Photography has always been a vehicle for inspiration and experimentation and is the usual resource for her paintings. She says, “Being able to capture a place, or moment in time and transfer that to a 2-Dimensional surface is what I am called to do artistically. I often think of Picasso as my muse and motivator, not for his styles or even specific works but for the work ethic, the commitment to his art and the importance of making it authentic to what drives me to create a painting or capture an image”.  Maria offers photography bookings, family shoots, senior photos, and vacation travel shoots.

“Islamoralda” by Maria Miele

Always active in her community, Maria just added another exciting volunteer project to her resume, as she designs and paints a “Giving Tree” mural for the Children’s Advocacy Council in Port St. Lucie. This agency covers four counties, offering children’s advocacy.  The Ribbon Cutting takes place on April 30. Maria tells us that one of her most impactful experiences was teaching art to students in needy areas where creativity was undernourished.

Maria is an active member of  Martin Artisans Guild, Martin Arts, Gallery Committee for Courthouse Cultural Center, and St. Lucie Cultural Alliance. She has exhibited in international art shows including SPECTRUM Miami and is associated with Redwood Media Group. Maria has won several awards at the AE Backus Museum, Martin Arts venues.
