Art Synergy is a 501 (c) 3, not for profit arts organization founded in 2013. The fruit of the labors of Rolando Chang Barrero, Craig McInnis and Freddy Hennevelt grew out of the original Think Tank,. It has flourished through grassroots efforts beginning with a partnership with Art Palm Beach.  Currently, Rolando Chang Barrero, President and Ilene Gruber Adams, Vice President are managing the organization along with the support of many artists and art lovers in the community. Volunteers and board members are always welcome.

By March 2017, Art Synergy will have organized 6 juried exhibition that have provided Florida based artists to have their work seen, and collected by national and international collectors and art patrons. Also, Art Synergy assists nine Florida art districts organize, promote and market over 65 exhibitions in each year throughout the Palm Beach and Martin County durning Art Palm Beach week which was initiated January 2014.

The nine art districts are: Antique Row Art District,Boynton Beach Art District,Delray Art Art District,Lake ParkArt District,North Palm Beach Art District,Lake Worth Art District,Northwood Village Art District,West Palm Beach Art District,Palm Beach Art District.

In 2016 Art Synergy was classified as a 501 (c) 3 not for profit arts organization which will allow for contributions and donations to a fund currently being created to allow needy families join experiential cultural experiences. This was possible because of the generosity of David and Lee Ann Lester of Next Level Fairs who donate exhibition spaces (Booths) at 2 of the Next Level Fairs: Art Palm Beach and Art Boca Raton.

ART SYNERGY is a countywide movement to unify and promote the diverse culture of our vibrant arts community. ART SYNERGY’s future goals include events that will happen periodically throughout the year, the addition of more participating art districts, and initiatives that help unify the many diverse art entities, and talented artists that Palm Beach County has to offer. With the help of local CRAs, Public Arts Departments, the DDA in WPB and the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County (to name a few), ART SYNERGY has only one place to go… onward and upward.

The Mandel JCC is proud to offer a one-of-a- kind tour around the historically beautiful Hutchinson Island! Our day will begin at the Elliot Museum, which was built by Sterling Elliot’s proud son Harmon as a tribute to his father. The tour will give guests time to travel through the mind of this creative genius. Sterling was a famous inventor who held more than 125 patents in his lifetime! Some of his inventions include the first knot tying machine, the Elliot addressing machine, the pneumatic tire, the unequal turning of the front wheels or the steering knuckle- which was a critical element in the success of the automobile.

In June of 2012, the museum merged with the Classic Boat and Maritime Museum. This will give patrons the opportunity to not only appreciate Elliot’s work, but to also see a wonderful collection of classical boats, boat models along with appreciating local maritime history.

After a tour of the Elliot, we will have the opportunity to visit Gilbert’s Bar House of Refuge. Enjoy picturesque views of the Florida coast while visiting one the oldest structures in Martin County. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the House of Refuge is one of ten houses of refuge along Florida’s east coast. These “houses” were havens for sailors and travelers who were shipwrecked along the coastline. According to the House of Refuge website, these establishments were, “run by the United States Lifesaving Service, the Houses played a critical role in a time when sailing ships dominated the world commerce.”

Lampworking is an art form which became widely practiced in Murano, Italy in the 14th century. Lampworking is the art of melting glass rods with a torch and creating on a steel mandrel small works of art. These pieces are decorated with thinner stringer pieces of glass and when finished annealed in a kiln for strength and durability.

Raida has a background in Interior Design and uses these principles to design, and use color in her glass pieces as well as her artisan jewelry. She has a great love for nature and frequently incorporates elements in her beads and artisan jewelry.

Danuta’s Den offers individual and group classes, seminars and workshops in mixed media, acrylic, collage, sculpture, etching in an atmosphere where beginners as well as practiced artists will feel comfortable.  Danuta excels in helping people feel spontaneous about their creativity.  She teaches at the Elliot Museum and the Boys & Girls Club.  She is a prolific artist in her own right and is eager to share her passion for creativity with individual students, groups and organizations.

From the age of eight in her native Poland, Danuta Rothschild delighted in drawing portraits of her classmates and teachers in pencil and chalks. Attending the Academy of Arts in Warsaw in 1969, Danuta rigorously developed a wide variety of techniques from watercolor and pastels to oils and sculpture. After settling in the United States in 1971, Danuta studied at Pierce College in Woodland Hills.

In the past 15 years Danuta’s works have been shown in museums in Poland, France, Bosnia, and the U.S. She was a prizewinner at the L.A. 1998 World Contemporary Art International. She exhibited in Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Venice, Santa Barbara, and Laguna Beach galleries, appeared on TV shows in France and Poland, and was featured in several articles in magazines and press. Her paintings can be found in a myriad of different art books. Her work is found in prestigious private collections and institutions world wide.

“Van Gogh” Interpretations by Students

An artist of considerable breadth and stature, Danuta created a large number of series covering a wide variety of subjects. In her “Art About Art” series, she portrayed her favorite painters—Cezanne, Picasso, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, and Modigliani—combining portraits with elements of their well-known works. Half homage, half subtle mischief, these whimsical paintings are perhaps more revealing of Danuta herself than the masters she reveres.  Her “Indian Images” series, inspired by the American Southwest, shows powerful strokes and somber moods vividly focusing on the inherent character and isolation of the American Native.

Danuta’s social and political concerns are also expressed in “Storm of Madness,” reflecting a series of conflicts in the Middle East, paintings on America’s urban homeless, as well as “The Forgotten Children,” a project based on the plight of innocent victims of warfare and drought.  The subjects of World War II and the Holocaust are close to Danuta’s heart, and led her to paint a cycle of truly haunting works. “Silence” pays tribute to the forgotten heroes and is a passionate statement on human suffering, underscored with anguish-filled faces and ghost-like figures, taking the observer on a dark and emotionally heart-wrenching journey.

Danuta’s more recent and less solemn interests include luminously rich and otherworldly landscapes, as well as portraits for which she is most widely known. Her ability to capture the scope of human experience—from the ominous to the magically affirming—is what makes her art so powerful. The brightly hued images of Danuta’s opus, including drawings, etchings, wall-sized portraits and sculpture, eclectically coexist amidst her studio bookshelves, photos, sketches, brushes and paint-boxes that portray an artist at work.
