Night Vision and Fluorescent Techniques
by Serafima Sokolov
Serafima Sokolov has developed a unique painting style which she calls “Night Vision”. Her paintings reflect modern issues such as war, equal rights and theocracy. Her newest efforts include a series about the Great Depression.
Even though her paintings depict struggle, they are actually lessons in survival, not defeat. They are about the strength of the human condition. With her parents, Serafima immigrated to the United States just prior to the fall of the former Soviet Union. She has seen a different side to life.
Graduating from FAU, Serafima successfully developed a career in art, primarily working in oils and acrylics. She enjoys doing murals which can be seen locally while her artwork has attracted nationwide attention.
