Artist, Marilyn Walter

Marilyn Walter has been painting and drawing for 40 years, exhibiting regularly, and an active member of the Florida Arts Community. Her figurative and landscape works have been in numerous shows in Florida, Texas, New Jersey, and New York. Marilyn grew up in Kuwait and Iran.  Her travel experiences and international upbringing continues to influence her work.

She is most at home using multiple art mediums in many forms to create her unique portraits and landscapes.  Each piece is a visual snapshot of images she investigates, capturing and combining a personal relationship with various places, nature, personality, and energy.

Marilyn studied at Fairleigh Dickinson University, NJ, continuing her art education pursuits by attending Bank Street/Parsons, NYC and several Summer Residency Programs at the School of Visual Arts, NYC.  In West Palm Beach, FL she has facilitated a series collaborative art projects.

Marilyn tells The Rickie Report, ” The act of people-watching on social media is an integral part of my creative process.  I investigate the stories and contextual information that reveals a human narrative. I am interested in how we portray ourselves in the contemporary world. These collaborative exchanges caught by my iPhone or iPad are then transformed from temporary images into permanent physical portraits.  Utilizing paint, printmaking, and mixed media, my art encompasses a unique variety of unconventional materials”.
