Florida Artists Group Announces Contemporary Art Exhibit At Cultural Council Of Palm Beach County, Free And Open To The Public
The Florida Artists Group (FLAG) was incorporated as a non-profit organization of professional artists in 1949. Made up of artists whose work has attained national or state-wide recognition, the purpose of the group is to stimulate attainment of the highest standards of creative art within the State of Florida. FLAG Area II artists from Okeechobee, St. Lucie, Martin, and Palm Beach Counties will present a Contemporary Art Exhibit by its members at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County in Lake Worth. The public is invited to the exhibit which runs August 12 – September 23, 2017. There will be a reception on August 12th to meet the artists. Members are juried in. The State of Florida is divided into 8 geographical areas.

Every year a Symposium/Exhibition is held in a different Florida city. The Norton Museum of Art, Jacksonville Art Museum and St. Petersburg Museum of Art are some of the venues. Lorrie Williamson is President of FLAG and Cecily Hangen is Area Chairman.
