Artists of Palm Beach County (APBC) kicks off season with an exhibit, “Very Important Pieces by Very Important People” at the Lake Park Library on Saturday, October 7, 2023. The public is invited to this free event, to meet the artists and view the artworks. Ted Matz was juror for this exhibit. All the work is for sale, and in addition to the art, visitors will enjoy refreshments provided by Friends of the Library. The Rickie Report shares the details and some sneak peeks! Artists of Palm Beach County, Inc. (APBC) is pleased to announce that it will be having a VIP exhibit in the Lake Park Library Schuyler Gallery/Meeting Room October 6 – December 7, 2023 at 529 Park Avenue, Lake Park. An Opening Reception will be held on Saturday, October 7th, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.Everyone is invited to meet the artists and enjoy refreshments as they view the art.

Artists of Palm Beach County is a non-profit 501c3 organization dedicated to helping member artists achieve their artistic goals and utilize their talents to enrich our community. Annual Dues for artist membership is $50 and offers artists the opportunity to: network and share with fellow artists, participate in and pay discounted entry fees for our juried exhibitions, attend monthly art salons, join committees to promote our goals, and volunteer for community events. For $75 a year, a Signature Artist enjoys all those benefits as well as a personalized page on our website. The annual VIP membership is $100. In addition to Signature Artist benefits, VIP members have their names listed in our newsletter and website plus gain other benefits such as this exhibit for VIPs only.
Twenty-three VIP members were juried into the “Very Important Pieces by Very Important People” exhibition and will be displaying works that are innovative, interesting or awe-inspiring. From landscapes to cityscapes, nature, or portraits, abstract or realistic, artists were invited to submit any 2-Dimensional mediums including ceramics that can be hung on the wall.

APBC is pleased to announce that Ted Matz will be the Judge for Awards. Ted, who is known for his rich watercolors and oil paintings, both realistic and abstract, teaches classes online. He was the co-founder and past President of The New School of the Visual Arts in Jupiter and was formerly the Chair of Painting and Drawing at the Lighthouse Art Center Museum and School of Art in Tequesta. In addition, Ted has taught at the Armory Art Center and the Boca Museum School of Art. Monica Postell is a self-trained artist whose watercolors and acrylics are stunning, was chosen as the featured artist.
