The Artists of Palm Beach County, Inc. (APBC) announces three upcoming exhibits. Though APBC has not yet found its own new gallery, the Town of Lake Park and City of West Palm Beach have stepped up with invitations for APBC members to show their work. Showing NOW through March 26, APBC Members’s artworks are on view at the Media Center in Lake Park Elementary School. The Lake Park Library, shares “Collected Works”, an Invitational Exhibit from March 2 – April 30. Everyone is invited to a Meet the Artists Reception on Tuesday, March 31. The third venue located in the Northwood district of West Palm Beach, ArtWorks Gallery will host “2020 = PERFECT VISION the Annual Membership Exhibit, ” from March 2 through April 30. Everyone is invited to the Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony on Friday, March 6. In addition to the art, visitors will enjoy wine and refreshments plus the spirited enthusiasm of the group. From now through March 26, 2020 the Media Center in Lake Park Elementary School will have its first APBC exhibit. T. Kelly Williams, the Media Specialist, is eager to have the Media Center filled with “real fine art.” On January 14th, Maxine Schreiber, APBC’s Marketing/Exhibitions Manager spent close to an hour in Ms. Williams’ 4th grade class. “The kids were thrilled to meet an artist and to see my studio online. They are excited about the upcoming exhibit.” For this first show, Maxine invited Cynthia Brown, Lupe Lawrence, and Grace Kaye to exhibit with her. Each artist will have 4 or 5 works in the Media Center, and Ms. Williams is hoping to have another exhibit when this one ends.

ArtWorks Gallery will host “2020 = PERFECT VISION the Annual Membership Exhibit.” A call went out to the membership for a juried exhibition of original work of any subject in all media, 2D or 3D. The exhibition begins on March 2nd and runs through April 30 when the gallery has invited the group to have another exhibition. ArtWorks Gallery has enough space for over 40 artworks so it should prove to be a fabulous place to show off the talents of the Artists of Palm Beach County!
APBC is proud to announce that famed Palm Beach artist, Sandra Thompson will be the Judge for awards. Known for her innumerable paintings of the homes and landmarks in Palm Beach, Thompson began her art career at Cooper Union in Manhattan. She later became Art Buyer for REDBOOK MAGAZINE and the first Editorial Artist for the Sun Sentinel.

The Lake Park Library, located at 529 Park Avenue, has also offered to be a venue for the artists. March 2 – April 30 “Collected Works” will be on display. This invitational exhibit is made up of the artists who have contributed in a major way to the organization. Pam LoCicero, Karen Karmazin, and Julie Burleigh all were Resident Artists in the Art on Park Gallery and are new Board Members. Bonnie Summer, was also a Resident Artist, and she is the Secretary on the Board. Al Rojas has been Vice President and is now Treasurer. He’s been involved in the organization since its beginning. Lydia Dardi, another Board Member, is the group’s graphic designer. This past year, she has produced all the posters, postcards, and other graphic needs. Last, Lupe Lawrence was an active APBC member years ago and then due to work commitments dropped out of the group. The Board of Directors is delighted to have her return as a Board Member. These seven talented professional artists promise to have a terrific exhibit. Everyone is invited to a Meet the Artists Reception, which will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2020, 6 – 8pm.
