Community Artist, Sharon Koskoff spent March, April & May 2020, COVID-19 quarantine time, creating a three-dimensional, mixed-media, mural installation. Koskoff sent out a Call to Artists online and incorporated 164 six-inch square artworks submitted by 113 artists. The works were created “during or inspired by“ their time ALONE in the pandemic crisis. She felt the need to connect with other artists and inspire creativity during this unprecedented and isolating experience. She says, “My goal is to keep all artists productive and working! I built this large-scale mural in the confines of my home, while communicating with other artists, and within the limitations of my computer, printer and ordering materials online. This undertaking has given me a great sense of sanity, in this insane world!”
Sharon Koskoff tells The Rickie Report, “While living alone with underlying health issues and a stay-at-home order in Delray Beach, I knew I had to stay connected and stay active! As a community motivator and public mural artist, I challenged other Palm Beach County artists to submit a square- sized creation of something relevant that they had made or that inspired them during quarantine. The overwhelming results have kept my creative spirits intact while giving participants a sense of pride, purpose and recognition”.
