About The Center For Creative Education:

The Center for Creative Education is an educational nonprofit that strengthens the presence of the arts in the classrooms of Palm Beach County, Florida. Today, our Teaching Artists work with thousands of children in schools and after-school programs throughout the County, as well as at our Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. A majority of the students we work with are considered “at risk” of educational failure. The arts-based programs we provide are a very powerful way to improve these students’ chances of success; both academically and personally. CCE also works with advanced students who benefit from the opportunity to delve deeply into subjects through the arts and develop their creative thinking and problem solving skills. At our Center, in the Northwood Village section of West Palm Beach,we provide arts instruction for children and adults, we host art shows in our Gallery and serve as a base for many community activities. It’s also home to our administrative offices.  For more information: www.cceflorida.org

About Faith’s Place Center For Arts & Education:

For the last 2 years we have partnered with a thriving music program in Pleasant City call Faith’s Place Center For Arts & Education. Faith’s Place is an organization that provides educational services to the community. We offer pre-shcool (VPK), homework assistance, FCAT tutorials and after school arts enrichment programs. We also provide S.T.E.A.M. (science. technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) lessons through Prime Time.  CONTINUUM WPB Arts Art Fair hosts a VIP Black Tie & Sneaker Fundraiser during our opening, where we auction hand-painted sneakers by our local artists. THE ESSENCE OF PHOTOGRAPHY with Russell Levine

For all levels, Wednesday 7:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. This class will revitalize your photography practice by exploring your relationship to your subject, your camera, and yourself. Through photo exercises, assignments, and field trips, we will learn to deepen our visual awareness while clarifying our approach, so that image making becomes both more personal and meaningful. This class will provide a unique opportunity to rethink our expectations of what it means to ‘see’. We will work on simplicity and making more powerful photographs, supporting the notion that a photograph is not ‘taken’ but made. Attention will be paid to lighting, composition, depth-of-field and exposure issues, but more importantly, you will practice using this information to make more powerful and meaningful images. Bring a sense of commitment (and sense of humor) and curiosity to class, as well as a few examples of recent work to the first session.
