Artists Of Palm Beach County Celebrate “Absolutely Abstract” With Opening Reception On Sunday, May 19 And Recap Annual Members Exhibit At Box Gallery Still Available Through April 31.

Artists of Palm Beach County (APBC) reports that Rolando Chang Barrero, The Box Gallery owner and the Judge for Awards, awarded First Place to Karla Walter for her ceramic sculpture Venus of Willendorf Soldiers, Second Place to Phyllis Simon, Honorable Mention to our Featured Artist Ayesha DeLorenzo, plus Maxine Schreiber and Jamie Rodriquez each received a Judge’s Recognition.  This Exhibit is available at The Box Gallery Now through April 31.  Save the Date for the Opening Reception of “Absolutely Abstract” taking place at the Hatch 1121 Gallery in Lake Worth Beach on Sunday, May 19, 2024.  The Featured Artist within the Exhibit is Ilene Adams  and the Awards for this exhibit will be juried by Karen H. “Windswept” by Ayesha DeLorenzo

 

 

More than 200 people showed up for the Opening Reception of the Annual Members’ Exhibition which took place at the Box Gallery in West Palm Beach, FL.  The walls and tables are packed with the work of fifty artist members.  Rolando Chang Barrero, Gallery owner and the Judge for Awards, gave the First Place Award to Karla Walter for her ceramic sculpture Venus of Willendorf Soldiers, Second Place went to Phyllis Simon, Honorable Mention to our Featured Artist Ayesha DeLorenzo, and Maxine Schreiber and Jamie Rodriquez each received a Judge’s Recognition. This exhibit includes both members and non-members who submitted totally abstract two dimensional works in any medium. Twenty seven artists and sixty four artworks were accepted into the show. Ilene Adams was chosen to be the featured artist. Aside from creating art, for the past 25 years or so, Ilene has had a company called The Marketing Works. She works with smaller businesses, artists and nonprofits developing marketing strategies and branding as well as creating logos, collateral materials, and websites. An award winning artist, her latest endeavor has been creating mixed media abstract works. She maintains a studio at Zero Empty Spaces in Legacy Place in Palm Beach Gardens.

 

 

“Diverted Dimension” by Lali Shankar

 

 

 

 

Karen H. Salup, renowned Abstract Expressionist and former president of Women In the Visual Arts, will be the Judge for Awards. Karen developed her talent through education at The Arts Student League, School of Visual Arts, C.W. Post University, and many years of private classes with world renowned professional artists including Jerry Okimoto. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Art Speak, Newsday, Palm Beach Art & Culture, and Palm Beach Illustrated and has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums in New York and Florida.
