Karen Durishin – Deconstructed Blooms Abstract

Karen Durishin of Waterfall Acrylics, LLC from northern Virginia is a mixed-media artist working primarily with fluid acrylic paint and epoxy resin for the last six years. Karen is self-taught and has been dabbling with Mixed Mediums, in one form or another, since 2014, and became a full-time artist in 2019. Karen’s work has been shown in multiple art galleries in the Washington DC area, and she is the recipient of several awards from juried shows. Most recently, she was the substantive expert judge for the TV show “Meet Your Maker” now airing on Discovery+. Karen is well known for her use of color and has a keen eye for composition. To date she has sold over 1000 pieces of fluid art, and teaches regularly from her home in northern Virginia. Her work can be viewed on most social media platforms and her website under her business name Waterfall Acrylics. Karen is married and has a teenage daughter, a cat named Bella, and a puppy named Finnegan.

Sarah Mack – Galaxy Pour Landscape

Sarah Mack, New England native and mother of three, has a lifelong passion for art, she finds relaxation and joy in creating works that both challenge and delight. While experienced in many mediums her current passion is the Acrylic Based Fluid medium. With over 25 techniques used in the creation of Fluid Art the artist is constantly learning, evolving and adapting. It is that creative process that is recognized by those who admire her work, one such connoisseur had this to say about Sarah’s work, “The abstract nature of the work challenges you to look at areas within areas of the painting, you get lost in the inner-ness, enthralled in its beauty.” Sarah was a principal artist at the Fluid Art Experience workshop in 2021; and at the Fluid Art Boutique in 2022. You can find her work hanging in Boston restaurants and she has been showcased at Art On The Mall in Newburyport for multiple years. Sarah embraces that each piece she creates is unique,” No two pours will ever be the same, there is a lack of control in the art-form that draws me in, the craft of constructing the pour, the prep of the surface, the creation of layers of color, manipulation of light and dark, contrast and shadow are all subject to the randomness of the pour and the elemental process of the work.”

Cathleen Ozmore – Advanced Swiping

Cathleen Ozmore says, ” From my early days as a potter in Upstate New York to today, creativity has always played a pivotal role in my personal and business pursuits. After a successful 30 year career in both Landscape Design and Interior Decorating, I began my journey into the fluid arts as a way of releasing my creative juices. Having studied many contemporary artists, I started developing my own style of “less is more” using a combination of existing and personally developed techniques. From “The No Bra Zone” (a euphemism for the free flow of design, color, and shape), I began teaching and sharing my techniques with those that desire to similarly release their own creative spirit. I am so honored to share in your journey”.

Mina Villegas – Splendid Split Cups

Mina Villegas is a paint pouring artist based in Southern California. She and her Husband of Awesomeness (HoA) create beautiful paint pouring tutorial videos for her YouTube channel, Mina Villegas Art.  Mina started her professional career as a Doctor of Chiropractic, then married and became a full-time Mom to two beautiful daughters. When the kids were both in school, she started working with succulents and fell head over heels in love with the colors and shapes and textures. She then started her own landscape design firm which created gorgeous Succulent Tapestry landscapes for residential and commercial business properties. Her use of color in plants and rocks and weaving them together was a launching pad for her art journey. Choosing the right colors and creating pleasing composition has always been one of her strong suits. She began paint pouring in October of 2018 and has been learning and teaching ever since. She has participated in Art Shows around Los Angeles and taught many students the basics and more advanced techniques of acrylic paint pouring. Her easy going attitude and sense of adventure and experimentation create some gorgeous artwork and a welcoming learning experience for students of all levels. Her classes discuss color theory, consistency for different techniques, working on big canvases, tips and tricks of the professionals, using negative space, and creating beautiful composition in your artwork. Mina and her Husband of Awesomeness live in California with their two teenage daughters, their cat Ming Ming, and their puppy Baxter.

Erica Hughes – Dutch Bloom Blow Out And Spin

Erica Hughes is an internationally-known abstract fluid artist from Chicago IL. Although a native of Chicago, Erica has resided in Dublin, Ireland with her two wonderful children (Tommy and Layla) and husband Tom for almost ten years. Erica has always had a very deep connection with the healing power of expression through creative art in all of its beautiful forms, from playing music, cake design and decoration, to her wonderfully unique mixed media/fluid art. She has a particularly keen eye for color palettes and composition, paired with a very expressive freestyle approach, which has been described as “a joy to watch”. Erica started her YouTube channel “Erica Hughes Art” (150k subscribers) for the sole purpose of sharing and (hopefully) connecting with others. “Fluid art has been such a big positive in my life. Like a door to another place, it offers an escape through barriers that previously seemed impossible. So if I can help even just one person unlock that door… I’m where I want to be.”

Michelle Galli – Pearl Pours

Michelle Galli is a full time resident of Dania Beach, Florida and a Canadian citizen. Growing up in Canada fostered a dream to move south someday. A career as a flight attendant helped her realize that dream to make the move to paradise.  Working as a massage therapist and flight attendant for 20 years each consecutively qualifies her for a book deal for certain! Her passion for art and creativity is matched only by her sense of humor and zest for life!  “If you’re doing what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life!” Her positive energy and experimental style is shared for all to experience through her YouTube channel, Grateful Creations. She feels that to be inspired and to inspire is very satisfying.  Acrylic pouring has become one of her passions.  She’s always trying new things and doesn’t limit herself creatively. She especially loves pearl pours.  Other techniques, such as straight pours, blooms, swipes, cloud pours and resin art are also in Michelle’s repertoire and she is constantly expanding it. Michelle’s work has been featured at several art festivals, the Fort Lauderdale airport and Dania Beach City Hall.
