“This marriage of image, technique and materials is distinctive and causes people to talk about what they are seeing because there is nothing else like it.”  Lynn Doyal

“Hannah” by Lynn Doyal

From realistic to representational to abstract, these artworks are a splendid fusion of contemporary design with a reverence for the techniques of the past.  Lynn Doyal’s technique of combining various media such as digital photography, painting, fiber hand stitching, and beading are exclusive to her creative process, resulting in artworks that engage the viewer on multiple levels.

“Neon Shells” by Lynn Doyal

Due to the intricate number of details in each painting, Lynn’s work is best viewed up close in order to appreciate the fine workmanship. Many of her works are scanned, enlarged and digitalized allowing for a more abstract and dramatic experience. She delights in the different impact the same image can have when size is introduced as an additional element.

“Enter By The Narrow Gate” by Lynn Doyal

Lynn tells The Rickie Report, “All my work is initially created on canvas incorporating a digital image and/or “free-hand” painting.  I go back into the image using hand stitched fiber threads and beading to bring a textural element to the artwork.  This canvas is then photographed in high definition and digitized so that the image can be output on a variety of surfaces including glass, metal, canvas, tile, and vinyl – which allows for SCALE to become an essential element in the visual experience.  The unique way in which the artwork is photographed and digitized yield 2-D images that look 3-D.  Seeing the detailed hand crafting and brush strokes is an experience that most every viewer describes as “Cool!” because it fools the eye.  There is nothing else like it!

“Dew From Heaven” by Lynn Doyal

While it is natural to try and visually link the Biblical artwork titles with the image, the artwork titles follow my spiritual direction, whereas my visual imagery is reflective of my artistic direction”. Lynn Doyal

“Glorious  Things Are Spoken” by Lynn Doyal

As an established studio artist, Lynn’s interest to create Public Art began in 2016 when she became a volunteer for Palm Beach County Art in Public Places program.  “Simultaneously, I started an apprenticeship with a professional Public Artist. These opportunities afforded a wealth of information into the public art realm. I have since received several public art commissions and am advancing my career in this industry”.
