I am an artist based in Fort Lauderdale and Miami. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I have been working on a variety of creative projects and have participated in many exhibitions. My artistic expression has gone through many phases over this period resulting in art with a highly personal approach and perspective. My work involves a variety of techniques and materials including traditional oil, acrylics, and mix media. I particularly enjoy mix media because I can use all my imagination and creativity utilizing materials that sometimes I buy, but most times I find and collect from the most unlikely sources. The combination of these techniques and materials produces interesting, fun and compelling pieces of art. My work is found in many private collections around the world.

In my recent work I am combining my scientific background into my art. Humans are visual creatures: we need to see in order to understand. My goal is to combine science and art in order to forge a deeper understanding of science in the public.

I was born in Sweden and lived most of my life in the USA.  I made my first painting when 9/11 happened. My emotions took over and I painted “God saving the USA from terrorists”. It made me calm, and I dared flying a week after 9/11.  It was followed by “My daughter’s walk throw life”, “Protecting my Daughter”, “Women LeaderShip,” “Saving the Ocean”, Finding a Man”, “Staying on the Covid Boat”,  “Yellow Suns Musical Garden”, to name a few. In the past I was a co-founder of a hi-tech company in the USA. We developed the type of video that companies like Zoom uses. I am also a co-founder of SACC Swedish American Chamber of Commerce in Florida and the Swedish Church in Florida. I have served on several boards, been an angle investor, mentor at SCORE, Career Source Broward and several entities in Sweden.

My life events are reflected in my paintings. Events that can happen to a lot of people, so I made pillows, cups, scarfs and so on with my art.  “Women LeaderShip” is a popular gift to motivate women. “Protected” gifts are popular to encourage someone, when they are sick or worried.  You can order the gifts with my art on at https://fineartamerica.com/My media is acrylic on canvas. Some of my original artworks are for sale at the show.  For more information:  Kerstin@kerstinofsweden.com

What color is the letter a?

I see colors everywhere, even in letters and numbers.
For a long time, I thought that everybody else did too.A figurative language and a powerful imagination have always been a strong part of my identity. I come from generations of curious creators, brave adventurers, and self-made artists from the arctic north. I was born in the Nordic light, raised with a Scandinavian touch and I grew up surrounded by historical architecture, antique art and furniture mixed by contemporary design. This mix became my origin and left a deep imprint on my signature brush stroke.

I used to be a co-owner of a small but very successful record label and music production company. It was crazy busy but always fun, and it gave me many creative outlet opportunities. To capture, create and develop the image of a new artist, you need to focus on the originality, personality, and quality they have, and then refine it. From the deep core within to the artistic expression. I try to do the same in my art. Capture, develop and refine, with a love for color, texture, form, and beauty in all shapes.  The inspiration from being among and around different expressions of art and people, triggers my impressions, thoughts, and experience from life as it presents itself to me and all my senses. I have a playful and experimental approach to creating art. My mediums are plentiful, but mostly I work with acrylic and mixed media.

….and by the way. The letter a is red.

Art, jewelries, and sculptures. Inspired by love, by joy, by life, the Swedish archipelago, and the sun in Florida. Color and shape are my passion! Color makes you feel, it is a vehicle that carries powerful messages. And for me, shape is the core of beauty. It tells you something, not only about the painting but of the mood and mindset of the artist. Enjoy color and shape as when you try an exceptional wine. Let it consume you and explore the details. Feel it with your heart. It is where you find the true message and beauty of things

I just finished writing about my life. The title in Swedish “Mona Tumba min sanning” has been well received in Sweden and I have been invited to many TV channels. It is about my life with the famous ice hockey player Sven Tumba. My art is found in many homes both in Sweden and the USA, and I have won several awards.  For more information:  Mona@tumba.comWebsite:  http://monatumbaart.com/

My paintings are about nature and things around us, but also people. I want to describe the beauty of nature and life, giving the viewer a feeling of peace, harmony, and happiness. When moving to Florida in 2000, I joined Boca Museum of Art – Artists Guild. My media have been charcoal, pen & ink, and oil, but lately I have enjoyed using acrylics and oil pastels. I love drawing, especially the black and the white tones that come from charcoals, as well as all the colors of oil pastel to describe the Everglades. My paintings have been shown in local Galleries where I have received many Awards and Sales. They can be found in many homes around United States and Sweden.  For more information: gudrunart@hotmail.com and Gudrunartgallery.com

I am from Sweden to Florida via Italy and the Virgin Islands. I have been passionate about creating as long as I can remember and have used many different media during the years. The Gnomes that I create are a reflection of how I have grown to admire and, a desire to preserve genuine craftsmanship and the use of raw materials. I have shown the Gnomes at several exhibits and they can be ordered on line at NordicGnomes.com. I followed my love of all things beautiful to Rome, Italy, where I attained a degree in fashion and textile design from Accademia di Costume e di Moda. I feel like I was born a portrait painter! I studied art in Sweden and I consider my greatest achievement to be my creation of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis, portrayed in New York City a few months prior to her passing. Inspired by Mrs. J.B.K.O. personal choice….we titled my painting… ” Jackonda “. Upon submitting the image to The Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery in Washington DC, I had great satisfaction in receiving acknowledgement of their pleasure with ” Jackonda “.

My ” repertoire ” contains several other remarkable women as well, but my only muse is Jacqueline. She was the reason to engage my interests in American History, which I manifest in my portraits. Besides that, I won second prize for “The picture of a day ” by Wall Street Journal. Several famous people have bought my paintings. Ronnie Wood, Leonard Cohen, Fats Domino are some of them. Oil on canvas is my preference, but I also enjoy charcoal and watercolors. For more information:   Kikigarb@gmail.com
