“The Apparition” is a play written by Philip Butera about discovery, a wonderland where a poet, artist, actress, and singer speak directly to the forces which indulge them.  It is an amusing narrative where myth and genius are bandied about in discussion.  In each act, this enigmatic personification, “The Apparition” directs the artistic process forward using dance, artwork, song, poetry, and visual effects.

The Players:

Mycaela Everly – The Apparition

Dan Breitfeller – Creativity/Inspiration/Talent

Kathryn Carlyle –  Painter

Nicole Washburn – Actress

Guiseppe Carriero – Singer

Philip Butera  – Poet

With the Howard Glenn String Quartet

Dancers: Branndi Lewis  & Eliana Girard

Directed by Philip Butera         Sound by Tony Mariano

Sponsored by Dova International Interior Design

Bruce Linser, Dramaworkshop Manager of the Palm Beach Dramaworks says, “Beautiful poetry and imagery…pretentious yet self-aware and funny”.

Kathleen Bryce Niles of the Comstock Review says, “Philip Butera unleashes the beauty and the frustrations of making art that is understandable, unique, permanent, and fluid. His is a master of language”.
