Let’s Get Creative This Summer In Pompano Beach! From Beginner To Advanced, There Is A Class For You!
The Pompano Beach Cultural Division wants us to get creative this summer! They are offering a wide array of workshops that will help both beginners and advanced students, providing them with tips to enhance their “making” skills. During each workshop, students will learn the steps to creating the project at hand, and when the class is finished, they will have their own unique work of art! The Rickie Report tells you what is happening in May at Bailey Contemporary Arts and the Blanche Ely House!

Black & White Charcoal Drawing On Toned Paper
Saturday, May 18, 2019 | 11 am to 3 pm
Registration: $40/student
Explore the rich tonal and expressive possibilities of Black & White Charcoal. Learn from instructor Kimberley Maxwell about the various types of charcoal and how to create a delicate range of values on toned drawing papers. The techniques of drawing with black & white charcoal together will be explored. Basic drawing experience recommended. Kimberley Maxwell was born in Canada and resides in South Florida. She earned her MFA at Florida Atlantic University and was awarded the 2004 South Florida Cultural Consortium Visual and Media Artist Fellowship

Every month, our instructors will introduce guests to an exciting art form providing both introductory and intermediate techniques that will enhance your skills. Learn how exciting becoming a creative can be! This month, with school almost over and Teacher Appreciation week coming, we encourage families to come to this event and create the perfect card for your favorite teacher!
About the Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department
The mission of the Pompano Beach Cultural Affairs Department is to provide cultural programming that includes the visual arts, music, film, theater, dance, public art, history, and historic preservation for the enjoyment and enrichment of residents of and visitors to Pompano Beach, Broward County, and the greater South Florida area. The department programs and manages the City’s premiere cultural arts venues including the Pompano Beach Cultural Center, Historical Ali Cultural Arts, Bailey Contemporary Arts, the Pompano Beach Amphitheater, and the Blanche Ely Historical Home.
